Miles was lying on the changing table, chewing happily on his chubby fist while kicking both legs in pure delight, completely oblivious—or perhaps entirely aware—of the crisis he had caused.
“You wouldn’t dare,” I warned him in my most menacing voice, narrowing my eyes.
The effect was instantaneous and devastating.
Miles squealed with laughter, his tiny body wiggling with even more excitement. His bright eyes sparkled as if he’d understood every word and found my threat hilarious.
