There was one solitary, big book on a low table between them. "The title of the tale is The Binding of Autumn," he began, his voice an entrancing whisper just in harmony with the shriek of the fire. “It's the tale of a harvest god who offers a mortal woman a choice: one night of absolute freedom for one year of unimaginable riches for her people." He didn't move as his eyes met hers. "The consent is the matter at hand. It must be freely bestowed, not coerced, and whispered three times into the skin of his throat." “Do you have any idea what sort of story you're going to be reading me tonight?”

Until now, strange short stories had only very short stories. But from volume two I intend to add stories that have 10 to 20 captains as well. These stories are not so long nor have so much visibility as a separated book. For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes.

It's only seconds, but it felt like I'd been here for days as my whole body began to shake from the intense cold. I'm too weak to speak or beg for help. I simply slumped down against the door and waited for my death. Just when I was about to give up hope, I heard a commotion outside. Desperate for someone to save me, I began banging on the door with all my might. Soon, the door opened, and I saw a man in a well-tailored suit standing in front of the door. I was barely keeping my eyes open; hence, I didn't take in his appearance.

The story had to feel genuine and I waited until I knew it was perfect and respectful enough to write. 2. I did not know how I was going to write it. I didn't know if I wanted it to be a poem, a 50 page book, a novel, or whatever. I knew I had a message I wanted to tell, but I wanted to make the story interesting as well. So I decided to turn it into a novella, because it was not too long and it was not too short. It was the perfect length for me to create my story.

The old castle stood high on the rocky hill where the forest met the mountains. Its stone walls were cracked and covered with thick vines. No one had lived there for hundreds of years. People in the nearby village whispered that the place held something dangerous. Something that burned hotter than any flame. Elias had heard all the stories but he still came anyway. At twenty six years old he felt stuck in his small quiet life. He worked in the village bakery during the day and spent his nights reading old books about forgotten magic. One book spoke of a fire demon who once ruled these lands. The words pulled at him until he could not stay away.

That was all he said as he took his briefcase and made his way out of the house while I watched him leave helplessly. “I could be good for you.” I whispered in frustration and stomped my feet before clearing the table and dumping them in the sink. I spent the rest of the day as usual, stealing Nick's shirt and hiding it in my room so that I could fuck myself to it at night. When 6 PM struck, I got a text from Mom with a message that had me sighing in despair. Mom: “There's unfortunately too much work. I think I'll be home by midnight. Or in the morning. Take care baby, xoxo.”
