Chapter 6: The Weight of Silence The car moved steadily through the quiet night. The city lights glared past the windows. The roads were less crowded now, the noise of the conference long left behind. Inside the car, the silence felt heavy. Marcus sat on the driver's seat. His hands rested firmly on the steering wheel, his posture straight, eyes fixed on the road ahead. He had learned over the years when to speak and when not to. In the back seat, Lucas sat slightly turned to the side.

Just silence. And somehow, that silence said everything.

No applause. Only silence. And in that silence , Truth.

Then she lowered her voice and whispered: "Since you are on duty." “Is that the fruit spritzer again?” Janik happily held out his empty glass to her and she filled it up with a nod. "You are probably telling each other everything?" She also filled Josh's glass and then said goodbye. She put the bottle on the trolley next to them. "She's to be smooched!" Janik grinned at his friend, who just had a smile on his face, but now looked at his friend disapprovingly. The latter raised his hands disarmingly. "It's okay, it's okay, it's yours."
