Ryder’s gaze swept the horizon. “The Silver Fang aren’t waiting for anyone to make a mistake,” he said, almost growling. “They are patient, calculating, and they know exactly how to strike fear into the heart of a pack. But they don’t know us. Not yet.” Crystal nodded, though the knot in her stomach remained. “I can feel their eyes, even from here,” she admitted.”

The courtyard buzzed with life as it always did, omegas carrying baskets, pack warriors running drills, and everywhere I walked, heads dipped and voices hushed. I could already start to tell the Silverfang pack apart from Hales. The Silverfangs were a more dark, brutish sort, tough and cynical, yet so self-assured and confident, just like their Alpha. They excelled athletically, erected buildings from scratch in a matter of days, catching wild game quickly and with ease.
