Simone managed a smile at her.

He pulled her into a tight, reassuring embrace, patting her back gently.
Just then, Liam, Simone's second in command, walked in.
“Boss,” he called, his voice a deep rumble.
Simone pulled away from the embrace, pressed a thumb to his eyes, and stared up at Liam.
“I want you to find out the bastard that hit my daughter,” he growled, his voice trembling. “Bring him before me. I will chop off his fingers myself.”
