Lili Cooper was only 16 years old when she decided to run away from home, now 8 years later she is a broke student who is working as a waitress at a diner that doesn't pay very well and continues to wonder when her life will get better. One day, her co worker calls in sick which causes Lili to take up her shift. A shift in which she meets a handsome stranger but as the night continues, she soon realizes that this stranger is very well known by everyone in the neighborhood.
