Sitting Reading A Book Novels & Stories

There are three of us jammed into the carriage. I share my seat with the new servant, the Luna across from us with the largest seat to herself. A book balanced in her hand she casually reads slowly turning the pages. Her focus is entirely on the book, her intense staring only randomly interrupted by a small giggle or gasp. From time to time she shifts in her seat as she reads. The book some tawdry romance passed between housewives, discussed in whispers and giggles at tea.

I still kept checking his food and the things that get closer to him. It was almost afternoon and I lied on the cold marble floor near the Garden. Sakhi bai and other ladies were busy with their chores so I chose to pass some time reading a book. I picked out a random book and started reading it. To get comfortable I placed a pillow below my head and the soothing weather was the perfect one accompanying me in passing some me time.

Reading will help me learn. "Sorry miss, can I just get that book." A guy stands next to me pointing to a book in the corner. I step back giving him space, watching as he picks up the book. Standing he scans it and puts it back. "New here?" He looks at me, as he gets another book and scans it. I'm guessing he works here. "Could say that." I nod and place the book down, I struggle to read the back from boredom so I doubt I will read the book.

She made me feel safe and welcomed, something I was gradually losing. I watched as she flipped through the pages of a book, her eyes scanning the pages like she was feasting on them. “Do you really have to finish reading that today?” I asked, crossing my arms as I stared at her. Apart from the fact that she loves cooking, she's obsessed with reading novels as well. Kiera is a book lover, someone that could finish a whole book in a single day. She raised her head slowly, meeting my gaze with a graceful smile, “Yes, I am.” she replied curtly, returning back to the book.

“I just… wasn’t expecting anyone.” She gave me a small smile and tucked a loose curl behind her ear. “I usually come in here when I can’t sleep. Reading helps me relax, you know?” I nodded, even though my mind was still spinning from the missing book. “Yeah… I get that.” Cindy walked over to one of the chairs in the corner and sat down, her eyes flicking to the shelves around us. “There’s something calming about being in here at night. Like the books are whispering stories only the moon gets to hear.”
