My blood boiled in my veins. I opened the door to the dressing room forcefully. Tears were streaming down my face as I looked at him. “Filthy? Slave? That’s what you really think of me!?” “Isn’t that what you are?” His reply was so cold it stunned me. “You were a fool to think that I would ever mate with you, even if the Moon Goddess fated it.” I blinked. What? “I reject you, Skye. I, Alex Wilder, reject you as my mate.”

she said and hurried away. 'How can our mate be so indifferent?' Sky said in my head. "I know, right? He's so selfish," I muttered. 'Maybe, he doesn't know that he's our mate, yet. We should talk to him. He's our mate after all' "No. He's going to reject us. He clearly doesn't fancy us," I said. 'You don't know that,' Sky said. I was still not convinced that he would accept me as his own mate. Why would he?

“Skye—please.” But I had already made up my mind. “I, Skye Crescent Moon, daughter of the Lycan King,” I said, my voice shaking but firm, “hereby reject you, Damian Wolfe, Alpha of the Silverclaw Pack, as my mate.” “No—” he whispered, stepping forward until his fingers wrapped around the bars again. “Skye, don’t—please. Don’t do this.” My heart cracked as I watched the pain spread across his face like a storm breaking over open water.

I said sobbing “No, you can't be my mate it must have been a mistake and I'm rejecting you,” he said “Please no!” I said on my knees begging “I William reject you Amelia James as my mate and future Luna of the Silvermoon pack,” he said and yelled at me to accept his rejection Sobbing heavily “I accept,” I said in a shaky tone, feeling our bond break as he immediately walked away with his friends I knelt with my hands resting on the floor, I could see my tears drop to the ground, and my friends Bella and Sophie came over to console me, I couldn't believe what just happened my only dream of meeting my mate became the worst day of my life.

I started to say but he cut me off. “She can’t be your mate because she’s mine,” he dropped a bomb and my mind exploded. This was fucking messed up! “Dude, why didn’t you say anything? Because it seems she’s been fucked by all of us and very recently,” I asked, frowning. “She rejected me man… she wants to be a Luna and I can’t give her that,” he responded, sadly and I felt my heart ache. “I am barely hanging on man… I was so excited when I turned 18 two months ago only to get a huge slap in the face.”

What I had just told him wasn’t the complete truth, but it wasn’t a lie either. “And he agreed to that?” He asked. Disbelieving. “Yes, I sort of gave him no choice.” Sky scratched his head,still trying to process everything I had just told him. He stared at me for a while before letting out a sigh and rubbing his palm over his face. “You’re making things complicated.” “I know. I’m sorry.” “Go after him then, he must be really upset right now. You almost rejected him.” I smiled apologetically and in gratitude for his understanding. “Thank you Alpha Sky.” I replied.

I know Sky wants a real family, but I can’t give her that. “I think it will be only you and I,” I let Sky know. “And, of course, your father, and then there are Katherine and Glenn and Zeke. And many others. If you don’t want me to be your mom anymore, I understand. And one day your father will find a female he likes, and he will marry her, and she can be your new mom.” Sky thinks for a moment. “Father once told me he only likes men. And I still want you to be my mom.”

He approaches me on all fours, letting his hands sink in the mattress before he peers down into my face. My eyes roam his broad chest, trail the muscles on his neck up to his face, where I stare at his lips. They look kissable, and an annoying blush spreads over my skin when my eyes travel south, into his piercing eyes and pulled-together eyebrows. His lips part. "There is nothing I regret more in my life than rejecting you in the past. It was a mistake—a stupid way to hide the truth," his lips form a sad, genuine smile. "It all makes sense now..."

With a sigh. "Yes. I'm sorry that I can't help you with your request. He said he is going to reject me as his mate once you step a foot out of the pack,"she said, and my eyes widened in shock. I can't believe this. This is really crazy and complicated. "What! Are they for real?"I asked, and she nodded her head gently.

"What if your father doesn't approve? Does it mean there's still a chance for me?" Sky's mouth was open wide. To cover up her awkwardness, she forced a laugh. "Your joke is so funny, Fred." "I'm not kidding, Sky. Ever since our last meeting, I've been wondering. Was it wrong of me to back down too quickly? I could have fought to win your heart and save you from the past." Sky furrowed her eyebrows. She was annoyed because Freddy's regret seemed genuine. "What do you mean, Fred? I don't feel like I need to be saved from anything," she shook her head.
