Rejected by her mate

Walking down the stairs after I finished preparing for school, I saw my mom and dad standing at the dining table

“Happy birthday sweetie!!” they both yelled 

“Thank you” I replied with a big grin on my face

On Top of the dining table was a strawberry cake with candles on top which was my favorite, I ran towards the cake blew out the candles, and began to stuff my face with the cake.

“Are you excited about meeting your mate sweetie?” my mom asked

With my mouth full of cake I replied “Yes Mom”

My dad gave me a peck on my forehead “You're still our little girl” he said to which I rolled my eyes 

Being the only child of my parents they were overly protective of me, my dad especially. Even though I had just turned 18 my parents treated me like a baby, they would always tell me how they met on my mom's 18th birthday, my dad was 5 years older than my mom, and it was love at first sight when they met, two years later my mom gave birth to me, it was like a fairytale story.

“Hurry up honey Isabella will be here any moment now,” my mom said knocking me out of my thoughts

Shortly after I hear a knock on my door, walking over to answer the door I see Isabella standing in front and screaming “Happy birthday ami!” she leans in and embraces me in a bone-crushing hug,

Struggling to catch my breath “You're about to kill me” I slowly muttered to her 

“Are you ready to meet your mate ami?” She says with her two hands placed on my shoulders 

“You have no idea,” I said excitedly 

“We have to get going now or we'll be late and Sophie must be waiting for us already ‘’ I said

I, Isabella, and Sophia have been best friends since kindergarten, we lived close to each other so we got along well, and ever since we've been close friends.

I picked up my bag from the couch and hung it on my back, looking over to the dining my mom and dad were both sitting in the dining having breakfast

“Bye Mom, bye Dad,” I said waving at them as I shut the door

We were walking over to meet Sophia, we always went to school together, and we lived in a werewolf community called Silvermoon, like every other pack they are far from humans and well guarded by pack warriors in other not to raise any suspicions.

On our way to school, all I could think of was my mate, the love of my life, I've always wanted to experience true love and care just like my parents.

We arrived at school just on time for the first period, pushing the doors open the first faces I saw across the hall were Antoine and Kabir, two sons of bitches, they always picked on me and my friends calling me “A” short for abomination because I hadn't met my wolf yet, everyone usually meet their wolves at 13 years of age but at 18 I still haven't met mine

Antoine and Kabir were best friends with the alpha's son William, I disliked them so much for always picking on me, William wasn't with them today which was odd because they were usually together but I didn't care anyway 

Walking across the hall, they both stood there staring at us with a grin

“Just avoid them,” Sophia said 

Just as we were about to pass them they blocked us

“Aren't you going to say hi to us first A” Antoine said 

“We don't have time for this ass hole” Isabella replied to him

“I wasn't talking to you bitch” Antoine growls, pushing Bella to the side while Sophia just stood there, I could visibly see her sweat

“I'm talking to you A, aren't you gonna say hi to us I heard it's your birthday today,” he said poking his fingers on my shoulders 

“Yeah Happy birthday,” Kabir said mockingly and they both started laughing 

“You think someone is gonna want to be mates with you A, good luck finding a mate without your wolf weakling,” Kabir said mocking me before demanding that we get out of their sights.

Half the day had gone by and I still hadn't found my mate, it was launch time and I sat with Bella and Sophie at the cafeteria only for someone to pull me by my hand, I felt some tingles in my body, I didn't have my wolf to smell him but I could still feel his touch

When I turned around I saw William standing in front of me “Mate” I said rushing to embrace him but he didn't reciprocate as he pushed me away 

He snarled at me “Don't fucking touch me and stay away from me” 

“But you're my mate,” I said to him

“I don't give a fuck you can't be my mate, you're ugly, you're weak and you can't be the future Luna of this pack!” 

screaming at me and drawing attention from everyone “please we can work things out” I said sobbing 

“No, you can't be my mate it must have been a mistake and I'm rejecting you,” he said 

“Please no!” I said on my knees begging 

“I William reject you Amelia James as my mate and future Luna of the Silvermoon pack,” he said and yelled at me to accept his rejection 

Sobbing heavily “I accept,” I said in a shaky tone, feeling our bond break as he immediately walked away with his friends 

I knelt with my hands resting on the floor, I could see my tears drop to the ground, and my friends Bella and Sophie came over to console me, I couldn't believe what just happened my only dream of meeting my mate became the worst day of my life.

All the attention was on me as everyone in school stared at me and I felt ashamed, I couldn't take it anymore I picked up my bag from where I sat and ran home without stopping to hear what Bella and Sophia were saying.

Getting home my mom was sitting on the couch, I paid no attention to her and ran upstairs to my room and locked the door, my dad wasn't at home because he was a park warrior and was hardly home during the day 

I dropped my bag pack on the floor and fell on my bed and the pain of our bond breaking kicked in, I knew my mom would follow me sensing something was wrong with the way I came home, she knocked on the door 

“Ami, what's wrong? Are you okay?” She asked with concern in her voice,

“I'm fine Mom!” I yelled out, she could easily detect that I was in distress with how my voice sounded but I paid no attention to her anymore until she left and I lay there for hours sobbing 

I could hear my phone beep with notifications the whole time and I knew everyone would be worried about me

I lay there thinking about the shame of my mate getting another mate while I watched, I couldn't imagine the shame so I wrote a letter and left it on my table 

I sneaked out without my mom noticing me and ran into the woods, I ran as fast as I could so that before my parents would notice I'd be far gone, all I could hear was the sound of the leaves I was stepping on and the breeze dashing against my face 

When I got to the park boarders I stood there and looked up to the night sky as the breeze blew, my clothes were flapping against my body

“I Amelia James break my bond with Silvermoon pack” 

before continuing to run I looked back once more “I’m sorry Mom” I muttered before running away.
