Silanya directs us, and we all gather in the front row of the stone benches.
I’m ready to hear what this is all about, but instead of talking, Silanya steps away through the back curtain.
“Where did she go?” Lyra asks.
All I can do is shrug, but thankfully, Silanya returns soon with a large book cradled in her arms, its edges sparkling silver in the light.
“My apologies,” she says. “In order to explain, I needed the Tome of Glory.”
I instantly recognize the ancient book, which tells of war and sacrifice, the stories we’ve heard as children about the days when shifters rose up to take their rightful place as leaders in this world. But I’m confused.
