She nodded cheerfully and packed the apples into a small paper bag, which I placed inside my basket carefully.
As I continued walking, another trader called out. “Fresh Irish potatoes, just for you. Come and buy for your dinner!”
I turned toward her stall. Indeed the potatoes looked fresh. The potatoes had very smooth and clean skin. so I went ahead to get some. “How much for a bunch?” I asked.
“Just five cents, my dear,” she replied with a big smile.
“Five cents? That’s quite cheap,” I said, surprised. Without wasting a second, I pulled out the money from my pocket and gave it to her. Then she thanked me and neatly wrapped potatoes for me.
