Levian chuckled coolly, equally displeased. He was actually waiting for the good part, but Christopher had somehow resolved the noise issue. Was that it? It was just like expecting something else when clicking into a movie, since the synopsis mentioned 'one beautiful maiden' and 'seven men'... only to find that it was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Inhaling deeply, Levian straightened himself and snorted. "Just wait, Mel. He's not going to strut for too long!" Guess it was up to him now!

It was a message from Pippa in the group chat for parents. Roxanne pursed her lips nervously and read the message. Pippa had sent an attachment. It was the file that listed the participants in each group and their respective plays. Ms. Roxanne Jarvis and Mr. Lucian Farwell will be doing Sleeping Beauty. The other plays were also fairy tales, such as The Little Match Girl and Little Red Riding Hood. It was obvious the kindergarten had made conscious efforts to choose stories with varied themes. It was just unfortunate for Roxanne that she got a love story.

Empusa kicked Ruby in the stomach with her bronze feet, then ran away. As a result, the guardian elf only discovered Ruby and a rotten apple. Living with seven dwarfs who bite, stink, and barely shower in the Valley of the Dwarves was Ruby's most detested punishment. She trembled at the recollection of those gloomy days. Olivia’s favorite princess was Belle and Giovanni insisted they couldn’t stop until they found her. “I think we should get the girls some lunch,” he suggested, pointing toward a covered patio of tables. Sabrina laughed as he steered them toward the pavilion, his stomach growling as Grace and Olivia began asking for sugar pretzels. “They can’t possibly be hungry again,” she insisted. “So far, they’ve had corn dogs, frozen bananas and snow cones. Anymore and they are likely to be sick.”

'What was your favorites? I did not think twice before I blurted out; 'Cinderella, Thumbelina, Sleeping beauty and Snow White.' He chuckled and that sound replayed itself in my ears over and over again. 'They all had Prince Charming.' He stated and I did not even know if it was a question or a statement. 'All girls want a prince charming and everybody wants a fairy godmother.' He rolled his eyes and moved back a little. 'So sad there are no prince charming or fairy godmother. The only godmother we have is our heart sustaining us.'

“Or at least, it’s similar to one of his quotes.” She nodded. “Does all of Black Crimson’s art illustrate some fairy tale or another?” I sent her a curious glance. Motioning behind her, she explained. “Well, that one was obviously Rapunzel. And the one before was the Big Bad Wolf, right?” “Holy shit,” I cried, gaping at her before shaking my head and returning my attention to the road. “I think you’re right. I remember another one having some guy leaning over a sleeping woman and one had a mermaid on it, which must be—”

Pouting, I could tell she was close to crying, “Just read it to me, mama.” I took the book from her, it was titled Sleeping Beauty, and then I started reading, “Once upon a time, in a far-off kingdom, a beautiful princess named Aurora (also known as Briar Rose) was placed under a sleeping curse by a wicked fairy named Maleficent. The curse was meant to punish the king and queen for not inviting Maleficent to the princess's christening.” I paused and then continued.

“I’m fine.” Alexander raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “You are a terrible liar.” Aiden tried to laugh but it came out weak and broken. He looked away, staring at the floor instead of meeting those intense blue eyes. Alexander studied his face for a moment before speaking softly. “Was it the nightmare again?” Aiden’s expression immediately changed. The walls he usually kept up seemed to crack just a little. Silence filled the room, thick and heavy with unspoken pain. Alexander didn’t push. He simply waited, patient in a way that felt rare for a man known as the Ice King.

There'd been over six hundred figurines placed around the house, and the number kept increasing. I mean, talk about extreme. Cindy thought it was funny. She especially loved the Cinderella figurines, probably because she looked identical to them. Young girls would stop her in the mall and ask if she was the real Cinderella. My stepmother agreed and even gave her a Cinderella figurine for a birthday. What was weird, though? Out of all the figurines, paintings, pillows, dishtowels, and clocks, there wasn't a single Snow White. There were several castings of the Seven Dwarves, the Wicked Queen, Prince Charming, and even an apple, but no Snow White.
