Prolouge. One and a half years earlier. The dinner in Spain. Sofia was on the opposite side of the room, while Vincenzo secretly admired her beauty. It had been two hours, not the Sofia caught Vincenzo attention without her even knowing. Her smile alone was so alluring, and Vincenzo wanted to be the reason she smiled every day, but he was afraid of what she would think of him. For the first time in his life her was afraid, afraid of her opinion of him, afraid of if she would even like him, just afraid.

So was Sofia. Lily crawled out of the ditch, the dog in her arms. “Ceddy. Look.” She pointed to the smoking ruins. A figure was walking toward them…small, limping, covered in ash. It was Sofia. She was alive. She was carrying something in her hands. A small drive. “My mother gave me this,” Sofia said, her voice hollow and exhausted. “She said to give it to you. She said… she said she was sorry.” She held out the drive. Cedric took it. The master list. The tracker. Everything.

She tried to push him away, but he was too powerful. “Disgusting” she blurted. "Sofia Russo," the words rolled off the tongue of the infamous mafia don, Luca Greco, as he pulled her closer, his smoldering gaze locked onto hers. "Ex-husband Tony Moretti. Has a seven-year-old daughter, Isabella." Sofia's heart raced as she realized this man knew more about her than she'd ever imagined. "Give me a chance, sweetheart," Luca demanded, his voice silky smooth. "Let me take care of you and your princess."

I tell her, bracing myself for the part that came next. "Even signing a contract with his partner, in return I had to be friends with his daughter", Camila's eyes still stared at me, waiting. How is she so invested in me tonight?. She's been invested in me a lot of times, but this one was different. And just staring back into her eyes and falling into her gaze, I felt a warm and fuzzy feeling all over my body. Sophia maintained her smile and said, "I see." That was the end of their small talk. Sophia smiled and said, "I have limited time. Can we do the examination now?" Examination? Cedric wanted to remove all the scars on her body, but Natalie wouldn't be so cooperative! "No need." "Nat!" "Cedric, do you think that if all the scars on my body disappear, all your sins will also vanish?" "That's not what I thought." Cedric was only trying to compensate her as much as possible.

Although nervous, Nicolas had already told her what to say to Marie before she arrived. "Good evening, Mrs. Marie, my name is Sofia and I really am Nick's girlfriend." Sofia forced herself to smile, she had guessed that Nicolas' parents would definitely not like her and she was right. Sofia was just introducing herself, but Marie was already disgusted.

Sadie and I have been in Baker now for two months. Going by the names Katie and Nick. Sadie turns eighteen in three days. It’s hard to believe that she is seven months pregnant, but her stomach grows every day. I got a job right away and Sadie wanted to do something besides stay at home all day. "If you two lovebirds are quite finished," the woman said, her voice dry, "we've got work to do." Luca chuckled, shaking his head as he opened his door. "Sofia," he said, "meet Vivian Blackwood. Former CIA operative, current information broker, and the closest thing I have to a fairy godmother." As Sofia stepped out of the car, she felt a mix of anticipation and trepidation. They were about to dive headfirst into a world of danger and intrigue, with no guarantee of success or survival.

I asked. Alessio’s smile thinned. “Your sister’s daughter. Sofia’s child conceived before Berlin. Hidden. Raised in secret. She’s twenty-one. Brilliant. Angry. She found Nadia’s old files. Thinks she can finish what her aunt started cleanse the world of ‘corruption.’ Starting with us.” The world tilted. Sofia pregnant? Before the auction? Before everything? Dante’s hand found mine crushing. Rocco growled low. Alessio stood. “She’s in Vienna. Tonight. Wants to meet the uncle who survived. Wants the lock in your blood. I took his hand to get up. “What’s the reason? We didn’t do anything wrong,” Leo said, but Cedric just smiled, and I was shocked when he pulled my waist. “You hurt my girlfriend. If that’s all the reason you’re looking for,” Cedric said. He started walking, and I had no choice but to follow his steps. “Wait, Mr. Sevilla! I’ll do anything, just don’t pull out your investment!” Stephanie begged, holding Cedric’s arm. “Anything? Then kneel before her and apologize,” Cedric ordered. The shock was evident on Stephanie’s face.
