I went into that last chapter with a weird mix of excitement and dread, and honestly, it left me feeling a little hollow. The focus shifted so hard onto the Outer Gods and this massive cosmic conflict that Sung Jin-Woo’s own journey, the one we followed for 270+ chapters, sort of got swallowed by the scale. He becomes this absolute monarch, but the personal stakes evaporate. The final confrontation lacks the grit of the early dungeon crawls. It's spectacular, sure, but it feels like watching a different story where the protagonist is already a solved equation. I keep thinking about the System and its Architects—that plot thread had so much potential for a more intimate, morally gray climax, but it got traded for a flashier, more generic 'saving all realities' finale. The emotional payoff just wasn't there for me; it was like the story outgrew its heart.
Maybe that was the point, though? That he transcended everything, even narrative satisfaction. Doesn't mean I have to like it.
