I took one last look at the figure struggling in the dirt and let out a soft sigh, closing the final chapter on a long-dead story. "Let's go." I took Ethan's hand, and without looking back, I walked toward the bright future that belonged to us.

When I next woke up, my eyes had been covered. I could not see even the smallest pinprick of light. My hands and legs were bound. Pain radiated from my back. The rope that bound me was lifted. Then, my feet were submerged in icy water. The water rose, slowly enveloping my chest and head… I could not breathe. I could not even scream for help. Eventually, I was raised up again as I thrashed violently. I gulped in huge lungfuls of air and coughed so hard until I could not make any more noise. The person at the edge of the pool finally spoke up.

Chapter 102 Ariella’s POV The entire pack was alive tonight. Not in a normal way. Not with joy or celebration. It felt wrong. The Day of Resurrection had begun. And somehow, that made everything feel even more terrifying. From the small hidden room beneath the old storage tunnels, I could still hear pieces of the ritual happening above us. Low chants. Screams. The sound of horns. It all made my skin crawl. Justin stood near the entrance, keeping watch while Ethan paced the room restlessly.

The alert tones and Sadie's shouting blurred together, filling the car. Then the brakes hit. "Get out." Sadie threw the door open, came around to my side, and yanked me out by the arm. "Acting like you're better than us. Who do you think you are?" I didn't fight her. I stumbled, my knee slamming into the rough ground. Pain shot up my leg, and tears stung my eyes. But I was alive. This time, I was alive. Lillian got out right after and took my phone. She tapped through a few screens, changed the destination, and marked the trip complete. Then she held the phone up, smiling sweetly.

My legs gave out from underneath me, I tried to brace myself for impact against the ground, but instead my weak body was pulled into strong arms.
