The bizarre twist in my mind had me back to reality; of course, Maury would show up.
The crazy part in this fucked-up situation was not the fourteen tests on the bathroom counter, or the fact that I knew neither partners' name, it was that I had lied to everyone I knew about sleeping with either guy and had held vehemently to that notion of truth since the incident. I hadn't left the house since then other than to go to interviews, and Carmella and Kappy both knew I certainly hadn't had any hookups on those outings-or hell, at home either. I was normally very free-flowing with information, so it was easy to deny having slept with not one, but two men, in a less than stellar moment of my life
