Sorry for not introducing myself earlier on. You can call me “The Diwata”. It’s our local term for a Fairy Enchantress. Try to imagine me as a full-grown woman, but I’m actually a Fairy. So no, I do not look anything like Disney’s Tinkerbell. I will be your storyteller in all the stories in the book. And just like everything you read here, it’s up to you to decide which is real, and which is not…

She whispered as she twirled watching every fairy and sprite light up the meadow. “This is so amazing. I can’t believe fairies are real!! Can they talk?” Laughing I whistled and the fairy queen landed on my hand. She bowed to Liza before she spoke. “Hello. My name is Alice. I am Queen mother of the fairies. This one here has told us all about you. He never shuts up.” Alice laughed. Liza begins to blush at Alice’s words. I should have known she’d sell me out. Laughing with Alice, a wave of fear comes over me. I hope I get this reaction when she sees my true form.

“You guess. Please. I am a great friend. I will show you everything. The campus. The shortcuts. The lunch halls with food that will not poison you. And of course the gossip channels on Wippy because you are definitely going to be on them again.” My stomach dropped. “I would really prefer not to be.” “Too late,” she said cheerfully. “Welcome to fame.” I stared at her for a long second, trying to breathe normally even though my humiliation was still playing on her phone like an unwanted movie trailer. "I remember that game." She smiles. "It was my favorite. Remember when I wanted to be a water fairy, and I jumped in the pond?" "Are they real?" "Probably somewhere. I haven't seen them here." I breathe again. "Really? What about witches?" "I've heard they are. Heard more about them existing back in the Salem days, so they're around, I'm sure. Hope they stay away from Black Lake."

The only difference is their shine. It’s much larger and stronger.” Was it true that I possessed fairy blood? I wondered if Killian had heard such a story. I thought not. Otherwise, he would have mentioned it. From what I could tell, we told each other everything. Or, at least everything of importance. My being of fairy descent would definitely be considered important.

Thank you,” she returned to her chores. They finished the soup quickly, the soft aroma wrapping the room . I ate like I hadn't tasted food in days, each spoonful a quiet salvation.

He asked the fairy. It turned around to Darrion and looked down, pointing its hand down. “Jai and green sibling are down there. I can feel them.” Darrion looked down and bit his lips. ‘Yeah. I should go down too.’ He nodded. “Hey, Mr. Windy.” The fairy called him. “Don’t go down there. You can’t handle the miasma.” “Again with the miasma. Can’t I just make an air bubble or air barrier to keep it away from me like poisonous fog?” He asked.

To say I was in shock was beyond an understatement. A minute later several small creatures came in and immediately put out the fire. They thoroughly cleaned everything up as if it hadn’t happened. I looked at my dad with a questioning face. “There are varying types of fairies. Brownies, sprites, elves, gnomes, pixies, nymphs, selkies. Some have to do tasks or they get assigned to watch over someone as a godmother. They have to accomplish their tasks to move on to the next phase of their existence, some become angels, some fallen fairies are demons,” my dad whispered.

my mother says. "Laura, the fairies are on the way here to see you," I say softly. "Why?" she asks softly. "Laura, they are coming to see their queen," I say. Laura begins to tremble. She drops the teacup on the floor. "My mother is the queen," she says, her voice breaking. "No, my love, you are now the queen. Someone killed both the queen and the king, my love. You are now the queen of the fairy tribe. Your tribe wants to see their queen in this time of their need," I say softly to her.

She gasped and pressed her face to the window when she saw tiny beings fly above them. “Sunitra! Look!! Are those tiny people?” Odessa pointed at the little being flying in the air. Sunitra chuckled at her best friend's amazement. “No, those are what the little kids call fairies.” The werewolf princess inhaled sharply, “They exist?”
