The wipes are to clean yourself from the soda and I always have some spare shirts. "Thank you," I say quietly as I kiss her cheek before taking the offered items. I turn my back to her, removing my now ruined shirt and wipe my skin clean on the soda. I was having trouble with cleaning my back when I felt soft hands take the wipe from me. I look over my shoulder and meet eyes with Jennifer. She's gentle with wiping the sticky remains of the soda, almost caressing. Once she's done, she steps back, clearing her throat. "Sorry," she murmurs shyly and I turn to face her. "Devon, please."

Stralath hummed a human song as the elevator slid below ground, and Cleona shot him a strange look which he ignored. He liked earthling music which showed creativity and spirit. He'd stayed up late scrolling the internet and uploaded an extensive playlist to the "insight device" attached to his skull. Coco cleared her throat, and he reluctantly tapped the disc behind his ear, shutting off the rhythmic sound waves rolling through his mind. I slowly lowered it and watched as the clear water ate up the dark skin, leaving it white and luminescing. Flawless. As though I’d never been hurt.
