A lot of people felt the ending of 'Release That Witch' was rushed, and I'm sort of in that camp. The story builds this incredible epic scope with kingdoms, magic, industry, and gods, but the final confrontation wraps up a bit too neatly. Roland's whole technological revolution was fascinating, but the ultimate resolution with the deities and the Sprites felt like it skipped a few crucial philosophical debates. I wanted more fallout, more about the societal changes after the final battle.
That said, I didn't hate it. The core character arcs, especially for Anna and Nightingale, got their emotional payoffs. Seeing Roland secure a peaceful future for the witches was the heart of the story, and that was delivered. It's satisfying in a 'mission accomplished' sense, even if the journey's last mile felt like a sprint.
