PATIENT ZERO -The lone survivor
Four sleek, aerodynamic, heat-shielded drop-pods rotated into the primary launch tubes.
Inside the pods, submerged in a thick, amniotic preservation gel, four figures twitched. They were grotesque, muscular chimeras, their skin a patchwork of bio-engineered scales and hardened cartilage. They possessed no eyes, relying entirely on highly sensitive, genetically modified thermal and bio-electric receptors.
They were the Hounds. And they were hungry.
A green light flashed in the bomber's bay.
The launch clamps disengaged with a heavy, metallic THUD.
