I ordered sparkling water, and she got a glass of white wine. “So,” she began, resting her chin on her hand. “Tell me about you. Are you married?” I almost choked on my drink. “No.” She laughed, light and musical. “Sorry, too soon? I just—people like you never stay single for long. You have that calm, mysterious thing going on.” My cheeks warmed. “I’m not that mysterious.” “You are,” she said, tilting her head. “You remind me a little of my sister, actually. She’s late now, but you guys have similar characteristics.”

Bianca said. “I mean, why should we complicate matters when it’s very simple,” Bianca added. “Uhmm, what about his behavior or his personality? Things like that?” Mitchelle asked further more. “A guy's behavior? That is what tells you who he is, he might be grumpy, he might not like to smile and always wants to be possessive but as long as his grumpiness is what makes you happy or his weird smile is what makes your heart skip a beat.” Bianca voiced out with a dreamy smile plastered at each corner of her face.

Then again, it was my friend Vespara talking not my subordinate. “I know enough,” she said, tilting her head. “I know Scarlet. I know she is a little crazy, stubborn, reckless, yes. But she’s also soft, kind, and loyal to a fault. When she shuts down like this, it’s because someone she trusts disappointed her.”

I studied the two of them in amusement. It was funny how Thaddeus, Sparrow, and Thea were all best friends but had completely different personalities, they were as different as night and day. Thaddeus was the more uptight and serious one with a very annoying attitude, while Sparrow was the one who didn't really show a lot of affection but he is the cool one among them. Thea, on the other hand, was my favourite– the life of the party. He was sweet, funny, kind, basically anything a girl could want in a mate.
