This wasn't how Bianca had expected to find the situation like! The instant the door shut down, Bianca couldn't help but let out a frustrated groan. The door swung open again making Bianca hitch her breath, she thought it was her boss but an old woman with white hair walked inside holding her Luggage with Anna gripping her hand tightly.
The woman kept panting to catch her breath, Bianca didn't blame her because the stairs in the house were the main cause of her tiredness. She took a few moments before raising her hand to indicate that she needed water, Bianca was confused as to where the tap was or where the cup was as she kept surveying everywhere agitatedly. After a lot of twists and turns, she finally brought the old lady a cup of water. The old lady grabbed the cup of water before gulping it down her throat. She smiled at Bianca the moment she was alright.“Oh, dear!” The old lady mumbled as Bianca held the old lady by the hand to help her sit on a chair.“Thank you!” Ms. Kevin let out as she placed her hand on her wrinkled cheeks before giving it a gentle caress.“I’m sorry, I just got back from my hometown, and climbing those stairs was a lot of work dear, ” she said as Felix trudged into the kitchen again. “Welcome back Nanny, ” Felix said, hugging the old lady. “I have to get to the office, this is the new maid who is going to help around! Please can you show her around when you are well rested?” he asked, kissing his daughter on the forehead as she limped a little before leaving a warm kiss on his cheeks.“Of course, Felix!” she let out, touching her white hair before ruffling it a little. “Thank you, I would see you at night,” he said to Ms. Kevin! He glanced in Bianca's direction before walking out of the door. As Felix Finn's footstep slinked. Bianca's stomach was filled with fear and reality, she knew things wouldn't be easy here but she needed the pay. A week ago she never would have imagined that she would be right here standing in this mansion staring at Anna who hardly or barely talks. Then again things had been different and she was happy in the little room that was given to her by the Ms. Kevin. After she had dropped her things and probably surveyed her room. Bianca headed back to the kitchen to clean the mess. Two pairs of eyes were watching her intently with flour all over her hair and face the minutes she stepped close to the kitchen. Bianca moved toward the little girl before cleaning the flour stain on her face. “Why did you throw flour all over your face sweetheart?” Bianca asked the little girl who stood mute without asserting anything.Bianca didn't want to be hard on the little girl since she was probably going through something huge. Dragging her eyes away from Anna, Bianca's eyes landed on the older woman who was setting up breakfast for Anna, her face was pale and tiredness was written all over her face. Trying not to sound rude she moved towards her, she had been arranging her stuff in her room, she hadn't gotten the chance to introduce herself to Ms. Kevin properly. She didn't know anything about Ms. Kevin and neither did Ms. Kevin knows nothing about her.“Hi, I'm Bianca Ferguson,” she said, making Ms. Kevin flashes her a smile. Bianca noticed the weariness of Ms. Kevin as she held the wall for support. “I’m Mia!” she retorted as she held her head. “It's nice to meet you, you don't seem that well,” Bianca let out. “I’m not as young as I used to be, just catching my breath for a few minutes would do love!” she said, making Bianca nod as she noticed the old lady Fanning her face with her hand. Bianca trudged to the kitchen to get the mess cleared out but was surprised that the old lady had cleaned the mess already and the kitchen was a sparkle. The kitchen was the type Bianca had always dreamed of but she didn't know she would one day see it in person, it was a very beautiful kitchen with expensive interior design. “WHO ARE YOU?” A voice asked, making Teresa turn. She noticed a girl who was dressed in a high school uniform, the girl was beautiful and she had a striking resemblance to her father. “Fiona, she is the new maid who is to help around.” Ms. Kevin let out. “Hello Ms Fiona?” Bianca mumbled politely as she waved her hand but instead Fiona took her phone from the pocket of her blazer without saying anything. “Mr. Felix didn't say anything about him having an elder daughter or did the woman who had given her the job,” Bianca mumbled, she paused as she tried to process her words.“Yes, Hector wouldn't have mentioned it to you because he is most worried about Anna's condition, she was there when her mother had died. Fiona is also affected by her mother‘s death but Hector needs someone who can be there for Anna always since I'm getting weak and can't be that useful,” Mia explained, making Teresa move to the sink to wash the dirty items Mia had used to cook. “Unfortunately I'm too old to keep up with the two girls and their father, the last maid left because she couldn't put up with them,” Mia finally let out. Bianca was intrigued by this little piece of information that Mia had told her. She knew it was none of her business but yet she couldn't stop her mouth from asking questions. “What happened to his wife?” She asked but Mia shook her head as she arranged some drinks in the fridge. “That better left unsaid. I would give you a little advice, Mr. Finn loves his privacy and family above anything else, the last housekeeper didn't work well because she was such a blubber mouth which Sir Felix hated. I would advise you to be on his good side,” Mia spilled out, making Bianca swallow the Lump that had foamed in her throat. “Let's forget about this, why don't you follow me so I can show you around. We have to sort things out before Felix gets back from the office. Mind you, he loves to see everywhere sparkling clean and set in order.” Mia said, making Bianca nod in affirmation. “See you when I’m back Nanny,” Fiona said, pecking Mia's forehead before walking away.“That's the extra room for guests,” Ms. Kevin let out as she trudged up the stairs carefully. “What about that room?” Bianca asked as they passed close to a grey door. “Uhmm, that Felix room, he doesn't like people going inside his room especially the workers around!” Ms.Kevin explained, earning a simple nod from Bianca.Ms. Kevin swiveled before giving Bianca a wide smile that displayed at the corner of her lips. “That would be all. I would give Anna a bath,” she mumbled, attempting to go downstairs to get Anna but Bianca stopped her. “You need a break from working, you just got back and you have already cleaned the kitchen, I would like to take care of Anna's bathing!” Bianca muttered out, making Mia smile. “You know what? It's not a problem because I'm used to doing all these chores!” Mia insisted. “What is my work here if I don't help out Nanny, I insist, you just take a rest!” Bianca said, ushering Ms. Kevin to her room. “Anna? Baby?” Bianca called, making the little girl turn
Bianca felt as if the world had just stopped at that point in time. Panic welled all through her body! Her eyes searched the whole room, she soon kept opening the wardrobe and cupboard just in case the little girl was hiding around. She moved close to the window and to her relief she noticed Anna sauntering towards the gate. She was already dressed in a pink gown and a flowery ribbon as she clutched on her little doll. Anna couldn't afford to be sacked on the first day of her job. She had been in charge of the little girl just a few minutes ago and now she was already losing Anna from her sight. She ran downstairs as Ms. Kevin emerged from behind. “Anna?” Bianca called, moving to hug her tightly. “Where do you think you are going to go? I mean the world outside is dangerous, baby!” Bianca muttered to the girl who kept describing things with her hand. “She wants to go to the hospital to see her mother,” Ms. Kevin explained, making Bianca clasps Anna's tiny hands into her huge ones.
Felix shoved the table backward as his chair slid close to the window. He spun his chair playfully until he was facing the window view, he stared at the beautiful and busy streets of New york. He noticed some beggars trying to earn a decent living without trying to steal. The sky looked a bit dark and cloudy like it would rain anytime soon. He turned back to his desk before looking at all the workload he had, he had worked hard for his company but things weren't going the way he wanted. He felt like he needed to pay for his sins, he was keeping a secret that he hadn't told anybody. Yes! His wife was someone he never expected that she would die soon and that had put him down but something else was weighing him more. He knew he wasn't going to pay for his sins on earth but in the hereafter, he knew he was going to hell. He knew he was never going to be forgiving but would the person he had sinned against forgive him for such a crime he had committed? Getting up from his seat, Felix b
Felix was back from a successful board meeting ever since the death of his wife. It wasn't the best board meeting he had attended but better than the ones he had conducted for two years, he walked to his office to drop off some files when he noticed the envelope His secretary had promised to drop. Growling in both frustration and tiredness. Felix stuck the envelope inside his suitcase before striding to turn off the light, everywhere had gone dark and everyone was going home already. Felix took in some breaths before sauntering into the elevator. It was time to go back home! There was much time to check the envelope to see if Miss Ferguson had any hidden secret. His car was waiting for him in front of his company's building when he stepped out of the existing door. The guard nodded at him which he returned with a simple wave. Felix slipped into the back of his car before sinking into the chair, he was tired and needed some sleep but could he even do that? “Home, please Fabian,” he
Felix entered his room before switching on the light. He stared at his bed as a memory of him coming back home tired and exhausted from work filled his memory. His wife who seems dressed in her skimpy nightwear tends to remove all stress. He ruffled his hair before pulling out his tie. A smile plastered on his face when he remembered his daughter's smiling a while ago, Felix could barely remember the last time he spent time with his kids, just like what he had seen Anna doing with Bianca. Reality hit him hard like he was being punched in the face. His daughter was three years old when everything had happened and his eldest daughter was thirteen, his son was fifteen but it still felt like yesterday when everything happened. Anna had always had bad dreams at night and wouldn't let anybody hold her, she only wanted her mother at that point in time but after a year she had allowed him to hug her again when she had bad nightmares.Felix dropped his briefcase beside his bed before plumpi
The sunlight cast itself on Bianca's face through the curtain which drew her from her sleep, groaning loudly. Her eyes lit up as she stood up before stretching her body. She stared at the floor she was laying on to notice Anna beside her. How did she get here? She pulled the duvet over the sleeping Anna. Bianca tried to remember what she was dreaming about but after thinking deeply she had lost everything after she woke up. This was the first time Bianca was sleeping peacefully without people coming at her for their debt or her landlord disrupting her sleep for their late payment of house rent. The night had been nice. She moved downstairs to notice Felix and Fiona having breakfast, “Good morning sir, ” she mumbled before entering the kitchen to help Ms. Kevin out. “First time, I mean Anna hasn't slept this well for a long time,” Ms. Kevin let out, switching off the cooker. “Morning Nanny but I don't think it's because of me, maybe she had been neglected that's why she felt alone, ”
Bianca stared at Felix before staring back at Anna. “We have a contract to sign today, ” he let out again, making her nod. *********An hour later, Bianca was dressed in a fancy gown with her hair tied in a ponytail and flat shoes to go. It was the first time she was setting foot out of the wealthy home of her boss. She noticed that Felix enjoyed having full security in his house, and most especially privacy. Bianca likes staying with Anna but she wished she had someone to talk to always, not like staying with the five-year-old was boring but she needed someone to share her problems with. She moved outside the huge gate as the breeze slammed her exposed skin. She strode to the main highway so she could board a taxi to take her into town. She stopped the taxi before sliding in, “where to Mam?” the taxi driver asked. “Town,” she mumbled, making him nod before putting the engine to life.Throughout the ride, exhaustion filled Bianca's body. She was meeting her Crush of twenty years,
“I’m sorry Jasper. This was supposed to be some celebration but you know how I tend to get emotional quickly, ” she let out pulling her hand from his grip. She could feel the cracks in her voice but she needed to drop the sympathy that was building up.“Thank you for the meal, I better get going, Jasper! My boss is like some strict soldier and quite grumpy,” she let out standing up. “But we haven't caught up enough?” Jasper let out with a pale face. “We can see each other again, meanwhile you did mention that you work here,” she let out, making him nod. “I can drop you off?” he offered but Bianca wiggled her head, she wouldn't want her boss to think the worst of her. “No Jasper, I would be fine! I would call you when I get home,” Bianca muttered out, she hurried out of the building before Jasper could stop her. Bianca soon mingled herself among the busy people trying to get to work or doing every possible best to earn a living. For a while, she needed to be alone and away from real
