Omega Hunted
He went down on the wet pavement with a scream, clutching his leg.
"Shoot him!" the man with the scanner yelled, reaching for a holster at his belt.
I threw the steel pipe straight at his face. He ducked, dropping the scanner into the mud, and I bolted past him toward the main street.
"Get back here!" someone roared behind me.
I sprinted onto the main road, one hand pressed hard over my stomach to cushion the shock of my boots hitting the pavement. My lungs burned, but I kept moving.
A commercial transport truck was crawling down the street, hauling open scrap bins.
