It's just that, My heart broke, And mended, With you, On the outside, And then he came, And you left, Forever. Once I was a glass figurine, perfect to the eye, fragile underneath. Since you used your words as weapons I am ground to the finest of dust - still glass, yet vulnerable to any gust. I still feel pain, so much raw pain, but I can't be broken anymore. You did your worst, but I am still here, sparkling in the midwinter light.

Eugene said, resting his head against mine as we watched our happy family. Even though we didn't have a fairytale beginning and had a lot of ups and downs in our progressing relationship, we met each other halfway. We were too scared to light the spark between us, afraid it might break us both in the end. And even though we were both broken, Eugene more than me, we took each other's broken pieces and built each other up again. We were two broken hearts who met each other at the most unexpected time, and we each gave our half to the other to mend the broken parts. We were there for each other, sometimes just lagging a bit behind, but we were there. And if this wasn't what one would call love,

Because once when I'm alone this is me. The foolish, Stupid Broken Adassah. Who does nothing about her broken heart but to cry in pain again and again.

The courtyard was overgrown with weeds, and the stone pathway was covered in a thick layer of moss. Next door, where my childhood home had once been, was now a bar. From inside, a singer strummed their guitar, their voice drifting through the evening air: "…At the moments that matter most, I finally see it clear, “Your hesitation, “Leaving me to wander alone, “Sober in the midst of dying, “Realizing you were always two steps ahead of me…" My fingers tightened around the keys. The sharp edges dug into my palm, cutting deep.

Aldrake said, his words shattering her heart. His words sliced through her heart like a thousand shards of glass, each one cutting deeper into her soul. Tears streamed down her face, a torrent of pain and despair that she couldn't contain. She trembled, her entire being shattering under the weight of his cruel words. It was as if the very foundation of her world had been ripped apart, leaving her gasping for air, unable to process the brutal truth that had just been laid bare.

"I'm sorry Charity, I won't be going to the victim's home today. Something came up. We'll go some other time" I think the phrase, shattering of heart is a bit too underrated and considered too literal, used in literary works and in certain kind of situations to prove how pleasant our grasp of good grammar is cause I can testify that my heart practically broke into a million pieces that all the glue in the world wouldn’t even dare put together if they tried as I read through Detective Roman's message that morning.

Breathing. But no longer broken

Yet, the song seemed to take on a life of its own, filling the darkness with a longing that felt almost palpable.

I let it pour, wetting my shirt as I cried everything out. I Katherine Thawne, has never been hurt this way before. It felt new...and it raw. Indeed, Heartbreak is the father of all prickled needles. TBC
