Chapter 10 Nathan’s lips crashed against mine with a force that knocked the breath straight out of my lungs. My eyes went wide with shock and my hands flew up to his chest automatically, trying to push him away, but it was like trying to move a brick wall. He was so much stronger than me and right now he wasn’t holding back any of that strength. His mouth was hot and demanding against mine, his lips moving roughly like he was trying to devour me whole. One of his hands tangled in my hair, gripping it tight enough to make my scalp sting, while his other hand pressed against the small of my back, crushing me against his body.

How I met him was quite a meet-cute, never have I been in a relationship this passionate. He was everything and supported me, he gave me all I ever asked for. Since I first met him at the club, where I turned from a waitress to a striper, he had always hovered around me. He made me felt special, I could see his love for me in his eyes. “As many as you want.” “That’s not—” “I’m serious. Go.” I moved through the narrow aisles and let my fingers trail over the spines. Some were cracked leather, others smooth paperback, the new ones still crisp and unbroken. I found myself in the romance section because of course I did. The covers were ridiculous with their shirtless men and promises of happy endings I’d stopped believing in. “These any good?” I jumped. Nate stood close enough that I caught the scent of cedar. “I don’t know. Haven’t read them yet.”

“Cas and I have been on for a month now, and I should’ve told you but you specifically said you didn’t know about my other fuck buddies.” Cas stood near the window, arms folded, watching me intently. “We didn’t want you to find out like this, though.” I could feel both their gazes on my body—the way the dress clung to my curves, the flush on my cheeks. “A whole month,” I whispered, voice husky despite myself. “You really are something Damien.” Damien stepped closer. “Baby, I love Caspian and I love you.” His voice dropped, that dominant tone I craved. “It’d only ever be the both of you for me.”

He requested, and at that moment, unable to see him upset, I just kissed him. Our kiss began gently, filled with love, but soon it intensified, becoming wild and passionate, as always. I straddled him, sitting on his lap, while he bit my lips and drank my blood, his eyes glowing. I adored the golden hue of his eyes. His hands explored beneath my dress, causing me to moan as he squeezed my bare buttocks. As he nibbled on the sweetest spot on my neck, my core throbbed, and my entire body burned with profound desires.

I’m damn proud of it, and I’m glad I didn’t give up after the first fail. I’ve discovered that I get into those fantasy stories where one person knows who his or her soul mate is upon meeting them, or even before that, as what happened in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, A Kinda Fairy Tale series by Cassandra Gannon, and many of the shifter books by Eve Langlais that I have loved so much. So that’s where I came up with the Love Mark idea.
