Also people throw most of the parties and peaceful events at night. Every night holds a mystery because of its darkness and opaqueness. I love nights for its mysterious but so clam ambience. No tumultus, no noise, no yelling, no beating and no fear. It's just so tranquil.

Rhea muttered, just loud enough for Luna to hear. Luna did not disagree. The universe did not hand out neat maps. Someone tugged on her cloak. She looked down. The same pup who had asked if it was night stared up at her, eyes huge. “Alpha,” he whispered, “are the stars dying?” Luna knelt. She searched for a simple lie that might soothe him. Found none that tasted right. “Some are,” she said gently. “Some are… changing. Like wolves. Some grow old and send out one last bright gift, then go quiet. Others move to new places. Others are born where you cannot see them yet.”

Names are one of the few things we keep with us when we leave our life in the human world behind, how is it not a treasure?” Ayla felt comforted by his words, and also directed her gaze towards the sky. “There are few stars here.” Because the sky was always covered by clouds, it was red during the day, and especially dark during the night. Even the crescent moon was slowly hiding from their sight.

The children have been put to bed, their dreams a world away, leaving Tom and me to revel in this quiet moment. Leaning into Tom's embrace, I feel the warmth of his presence enveloping me. The crackling of the fire and the soft strumming of the guitar create a soothing symphony. Above us, the stars twinkle like diamonds, casting their radiant light upon us.
