Derren replied. Steven got up from the bed and stood up straight. He only had his trousers on, leaving his top half open completely. His torso and arms were stained with bruise marks from the cables and pipes that were stuck to his body during his time with Professor Joseph. “Governor Gerald, Professor Joseph, and Evelyn are going to die by my hands. For the sake of Gregory and for the sake of all the people they put through so much pain because of their selfish goals, I'm going to make sure they pay,” Steven said, his voice laced with anger as he tightened his fist.

Rachel's POV Steven laughed quietly while telling a story about one of the people who collect his art. This guy offered a way low price for one of Stevens paintings. "He thought I was still in school and needed people to like my work," Steven said in a way. I smiled at him. "So what did you say to the guy?" "I told him it was okay. Not everyone likes art,” Steven said. He sounded calm. I could tell he was pretty sure of himself. Steven knows what he is worth. He does not need to get all worked up to prove it.

“Do whatever you want. All my relatives are dead anyway.” Steven pulled out a bunch of fries like he was making conversation. He smiled. “Are you pretending you don’t know, or do you really not know? You still have family back in your hometown. You just chose to forget about them. I was deciding who to visit next. Now I don’t have to think too hard.” Victor’s eyes flew open. “You wouldn’t dare.” “Why wouldn’t I?” Steven’s tone stayed light. “Don’t forget where you are. This is East Coast. And I happen to work for Zachary Reynolds.”

“You planned this, remember? Don’t get all possessive now.” Steven’s laugh came out strangled and humorless. “Possessive? I’m not—” He ran a shaky hand through his hair. “Max, we’re done. Stop it. This isn’t happening.” Max raised a brow, “ Are you getting cold feet, Steven?" He blinked, signaling him to play along. Steven shook his head, looking defeated. “Just… please. Leave him alone.” The please gutted me. Something was definitely wrong, very wrong. Max waved a dismissive hand at him. “He’s drunk. Ignore him.”

After finishing with the rogue by consuming its flesh and discarding its head, I stood there in awe, struggling to grasp the reality unfolding before me. Steven shifted back to his human form, bare from the waist up, his eyes begging as he gazed at me. He seemed to gauge my reaction. "Are you alright?" he inquired, but I shoved him away and retreated. I shook my head, afraid of him. "It was you all along! You orchestrated all this chaos!" The silver fur glimpsed during a near accident, things that appeared beside me just when I needed them, his subtle questions about my paste and my mate...

Steven cried as he spoke, he was wrong he admitted it, Nathan of all people should understand where he was coming from. He was an orphan at an early age because of rogues, Nathan knows of his resentment towards rogues and distrust for them. Could he not understand him? But Nathan smirked. “You deserve worse but being a rogue will do just fine for now.” He stood up and pushed Steven away from him. “I alpha Nathan Walker hereby banish you Steven Martin gamma of Silver Sands pack to leave the pack and be a rogue.”

I don’t know. In the video, Steven babbles on, revealing information that shocks me to the core. Steven's entrepreneurial ventures are all a façade. If it was, it had worked spectacularly, because the two had an awkward little hug, something that they never did, and then Luke was gone again. It took Steven a minute to think it through, to wrap his head around it just being said and done. If Steven didn't know any better, he’d think that the universe was fucking with him. Either way, it didn't feel like it could go too much longer. Whatever was going to happen, Steven just wanted that ill feeling to leave him. He wasn't used to it, and he didn't like it at all.
