"Yeah, so that's my story." I retold my life's story to someone who wouldn't go blabbing. "You know," I pause to read the labrador's collar "Chocolate." You not so bad to talk to." The labrador wags his tail and his tongue jots out his mouth. He was such a good listener. "I better get going buddy", I sigh and stand to my feet. He gives me a sad look and puts his ears down. "Aww, don't be like that. Okay, I will be by again tomorrow." He picks his head up and wags his tail.

“Mommy has to read a story.” I smiled faintly. “You’re still excited to read a story, even though you were sleepy earlier?” “Of course. Just one story.” Noah raised a finger, his face very serious. Liam chuckled. “Just one short story, okay? You have school tomorrow.” Noah nodded quickly. “Okay.” I took a thin book from the nightstand, his favorite animal picture book. I opened it to the first page and began reading softly. Noah rested his head on my shoulder, his eyes half-closed, but his lips still smiling.

The scene was heartbreaking to watch, especially when Lex narrated the story of "Super Mom, Joy" who saves "Papa Lex" and "Uncle Rowland" from the big, bad wolves.

She looked shocked but said, "Yes. You are really good with the pups. Ashley clearly likes you." "All right pups! Chapter Eight." I said as I turned to the page. I started reading, Ashley leaned against my chest. As I read, I tried to use different voices for the characters. The pups laughed, I held their attention easily. Maybe one day my talent will get me somewhere better in life. Ah ,grief, I should not treat you like a homeless dog, who comes to the back door for a crust,for a meatless bone , I should trust you. I should coax you into the house and give you, your own corner,a worn mat to lie on, your own water dish . You think I don't know you've been living under my porch. You long for your real place to be readied before winter comes . They were a boy and a girl and when one of them died, the other lost the will to live and died shortly after. When the boy went to visit the graves of his dogs, he found a red fern growing over the graves. The story was called Where the Red Fern Grows.
