Reid, the CEO of Reid Global, a multi-million conglomerate that has a hand in a lot of sectors – energy, science, politics, sales, I’m exposed to a lot of the business, but I also know that there’s a lot that I don’t know, a lot that I’m not important enough in the hierarchy to know. Spending a year working for him though, I feel like I’ve come to know him somewhat, and I definitely know his reputation. His reputation paints him as a stoic businessman with no serious attachments, some thinking he’s too young for the job at only 31, but nobody can fault that he gets results where they’re needed. Personally, I know that he’s kind. At least, he is to me.

The two ladies could still be managed, he had faced down worse, but the men looked like they would kill him brutally no matter what he had come to say. Ian hated him, but he had never seen this kind of look in his eyes before. Mark shivered as he was scared out of his wits. He was only a few months younger than Ian, but now it felt like Ian was a four hundred year old deity of death and he was a defenseless two year old. Did he make a mistake coming here? “Reid has taken everything from me”, he said resolutely, he was never one to back down, not even when he felt humiliated beyond measure.

The grey stone fireplace was lit behind them, making it appear welcoming, but I knew better. Rose was the first to speak. The years have been kind to her. Her dark red hair had some silver streaking through. Her green eyes have dulled over the years, but she was in her mid-60s but could probably pass for early 50s. “Reid, I would say it was a pleasure to see you, but we both know that would be a crock of shit.”

He cooed, and I nodded on his shoulder. “Thanks, Trevor… You know that even when we did not work out as a couple. I will always love you as a friend…” I said, and he sighed, “It still hurts, Storm… but I understand and will always love you too…” He said and left out the part that his love was friendly. I took a deep breath and sighed, “I have to go… I have two more months of freedom, and then later, on my 21st birthday, things will change…” I said, and he nodded.

He then sat next to Reid, picked up the water on the table and took a sip, then said, "I haven't seen you smile in the past few days since I came back, what’s so amusing now?" Reid Fenton is in his fifties,with a touch of frost on his temples. Despite the obvious wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, his sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes still revealed a hint of his charm from his prime years. However, as he grew older, his body had slightly gained some weight. But he’s tall with wide shoulders, it evens out. Jayden have his eyes, but the other features were more like his mother. "Come and take a look." Reid greeted, "Look at these, which one do you like?"

But I’ve proven him wrong anyway. Mr Reid is Forty-Six. Divorced. Has a son my age. And yet, those details don't stop me. It doesn't restrain him forever either. The thought stays in the back of my mind, but it doesn't last. Because this isn’t about age, or past lives, or morality. This is about control—and right now, I have it.

“You need a break, sweetheart. Not just the kids but everything. And unfortunately even with his bandanged body, he was still one of the most attractive people I had ever seen in my life.
