Vedika picked up the book and pointed to the subtitle, “In search of true heart.” She immediately asked “where you got this book.” “I discovered it at dad’s library, therefore grandmother, if you can read other languages, will you kindly read it to me? “

I wandered through the aisles, running my fingers along the spines, feeling a sense of belonging I hadn't felt in a long time. I spent the whole day there, completely lost among the books, reading story after story until I lost track of time. One book caught my attention "The Adventures of Sir Flufftail" a ridiculous but absolutely hilarious story about a brave and very dramatic rabbit knight who went on quests to save stolen carrot cakes from mischievous squirrels.

He cajoled her and Chandni burst out laughing. "Do you want me to read a story?" She asked, cupping his cheeks. "Yes please!" He replied happily. "Now what do I have here?? The great adventures of Winnie the Pooh!" Chandni showed the tattered old book that she still kept, in the small bookshelf next to her bed. "Oh Mom!! Not that again! I have read it so many times that it is boring!" Atharv groaned. "The more bored you get, the quicker you go back to sleep. So yes... it is going to be this book I am afraid." “Come, Brian. Daddy’s reading us a story.” He hesitated only a second before climbing up, squeezing himself beside his sister. Arya looped her little arm around him, and he leaned against me, his head resting on my side. My throat tightened as I adjusted the book so both of them could see. “Ready?” I asked softly. They nodded, their faces expectant, their eyes wide. And so, I began. “Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, there lived a princess who was braver than all the knights in the land. She had hair as golden as the sun and eyes that sparkled like the stars. But one day, a fearsome dragon came to her village…”

She buried her head into her hands and sobbed. “Mummy can you give auntie a hug?” Sean asked his mother. “She is very sad.” Natasha turned to look at Luyando’s desperate state. “Sean, why don’t you and I go out and take a look at the beautiful orchard behind the house?” Tulani took his son’s hand and led him out of the room. “What is an orchard dad?” Sean asked. “It is a garden of fruits son.” “Woooow. Are there apples there?” the four year old asked excitedly.

She opened it; the familiar smell of paper and ink wafted up, and she began to read the story, her voice weaving through the words like a soothing lullaby in the cozy glow of the room. “Once upon a time, there lived a pig mummy and her three little pigs. One day, when the little pigs were hungry, their Mummy pig went into the kitchen to prepare their meal, but she found there was no food; she checked her wallet, and all her money was gone too.” “Oh, no…” Alexandre said, and Reina smiled and continued.
