Story Town Names Novels & Stories

We just recently relocated from our former house so I had to change school. We lived in the rural part of Lagos State and I was looking for the best school around the house. I didn't want a school far from home. I had already written down the list of schools in the area and the next school on the list was, "CROWNSTAR HIGHSCHOOL", the school sounds interesting though.

The kids snuggled in closer as they waited for me to begin. "Alright, you three," I said softly. "How about a story about a brave knight who had to save a village from a terrible storm?" I paused for effect, seeing their eyes widen in anticipation. “A knight!” Tyler whispered in awe. “Shh, quiet now,” I smiled, holding up a finger to my lips. “Once upon a time, in a village tucked away beneath the tallest mountains, there lived a knight named Sir Cedric. He was known throughout the land not just for his strength, but for his kindness and bravery. One day, a terrible storm came, one like no one they had ever seen before. It roared through the trees and shook the earth beneath their feet…”

he said with a wry smile. Teddy looked like he was sincerely telling the truth, but his eyes flashed with cunning gleam. Below the cliffs of Storm Mountain in the north of the city was an enormous natural cave that was seemingly bottomless. Powerful hurricanes often hit that area and it was because of this that the city was named Storm City.

The sun shone brightly over the charming town of Meadowbrook, where the lives of Christiana, Tiger, Helen, Simon, Lucy, and Abraham had unfolded. The passing of time had woven new stories into the fabric of their lives, and now, 25 years later, their children had grown into remarkable individuals.

Dak had a questioning smirk on his face. “Yep. Then, he named the town Christmas Falls to mark the occasion.” Memory giggled, and Dak laughed as well. Still chuckling, he asked, “You don’t really think that’s true, do you?” Memory shrugged. “I have no idea. But it makes for a good story.”

’ ‘I was too upset with Dad. My phone beeps at me just after I press the send button and I frown...That’s so not fair. I hate the country roads... No cell service. I just hope there is cell service in the town we will be going to. I then turn to Dad, thinking that maybe I can get a little more information on where we are going. “Dad, what is the name of this town we are going to?” “It is called White Wolves!” “Are you sure? I have never heard of it.”

I know Hill and Forest had those; for example, Hill had places like Peakland and Hill Village, but they also had places like Graceland, Rendale, and so on. Forest had places like Woodland, Timber and Oakland, but they also had places like Riverdale and Riverhead. While some names were obvious, and you could easily place the kingdom they belonged to by hearing the names, others were enigmatic and elusive, and you had to know the map to figure out where they belonged. This couldn't be the same for Snow.

I replied with a slight shake to my head. "It a small town, the smallest here in our Kingdom. The way leading up to that town is as thin as a sword, and you would find the two at the very tip of that sword, hence, the name Tip was given to it many many years ago." He explained with a small smile. "What about that town?"

"So, do I." His hand went across the half-melted ice covered stone. How could such a stone exist? He continued to move his hand. The stone was warm. There was no way, for this type of a stone to exist. But it still existed and was real as he was or anybody in the nearby area that surrounded the Midwinter Town, a strange name for a town in the middle of nowhere. The name now refers to the town that was built around the much old and larger town.

Then again, she wasn’t really a reader either. Walking through the store, Shiloh stopped and looked at the occasional signposts. About half the names she recognized. Hundred Acre Woods. Narnia. Andor. Forks, Washington. Hogsmeade. The Shire. Others she had no idea where they were. Prythian. Earth City. Navarre. Braavos. Opar.
