A Man with Nerves of Steel

A Man with Nerves of Steel

If you want to have a successful career, you have to become a workaholic. "Likewise, if you're caught up in family responsibilities, you can't devote yourself fully to work. From now on, Joseph won't devote all his time to us. He's going to become a workaholic." Bernard said, "We can't keep him around or win his affection. If you're not going to divorce him, what's the point?" "I love him! I can't live without him! Our family and company have been through a lot lately. Things are a complete mess. That just proves how important he is."

No More Bloodsuckers

No More Bloodsuckers

"Steven, do you even realize this isn't just a transfer? It's a promotion. A freaking promotion! Do you know how long I've worked for this opportunity?" "It makes no difference whether you get promoted or not in that crappy company. I really don't get why you care so much. You're married now. Your priority should be the family. You should be focusing on getting pregnant and having a son. That should be your main goal at this stage in life." I felt my heart sink slowly into the abyss. So, in his eyes, my only value as a woman was to bear him children. My career and ambitions were nothing, all disposable in the face of family duties.

Can you keep a secret

Can you keep a secret

I snorted, picking on my food. "Don't say that Clarissa, she does. She cares about us. The work is what is keeping her away from us." Dad said, trying not to make me hate her. "That's it. Work all the time. Is she the only worker in the whole of California? Of course not! She doesn't see us as her priority, she puts us last, can't you see?" I yelled getting pissed off with the term 'work'. "No Clarissa, it's not what you think. Your mom cares about me and you. It's just.. it's.. just" He stuttered, choked on his words

Alpha Damien's Contracted Luna

"It seems we might have compatible goals after all. I need a wife in name only, and you seem to be in the market for exactly that." Her eyes widened, genuine surprise crossing her features. "Why would you need that?" "Because I don't have time for relationships," I said bluntly. "I don't have time for emotional demands, irrational jealousy, or any of the other complications that come with actual partnerships. My work is my priority. I need someone to fulfill a role, satisfy my family's expectations, and otherwise stay out of my way." Her brows furrowed. "Are you being honest?" "I don't waste time on lies," I replied. "They're inefficient. I need a wife on paper. You need a husband for whatev

Although I wanted to add its nice meeting you out of courtesy but I didn't coz it is not a nice meeting. "Now continue with your conditions" he ordered. What is wrong with him? Why is he dominating me??? "First of all, I will continue working after marriage" i announced "Then how will you take care of my daughter" he shoot his question instantly. "Why, have you never seen women being working??? They can handle both home and their work very well" I said feeling offended by his question. "I want your full attention on my daughter. But if you will work, then how will it be possible...And as far as money is concerned, you will get that for your personal expenses!!!" He said arrogantly.

Emotionless Attachment

Emotionless Attachment

I just smiled. So far, my life's heading on the right track. That's when I did my job because of Jase. I was so focused on making a living that I forgot how to actually live. I forgot to have fun and to love my work. It's about time I focus on myself and career ... and of course my son.

Revenge of the Hideous Lady

Revenge of the Hideous Lady

Having a career and earning money was important, but maintaining a stable relationship was equally so. Xyla felt touched by his words again. “Honey, you’re so wonderful. But I have a lot of work to do in the afternoon. I can’t do much with you even if you’re here.” “You don’t have to do anything. I just want to look at you,” he stated. Stanley only wanted to watch his wife silently and be near her. Xyla smiled. “But what if you miss something important at work?” “What’s more important than you in this world?”

The storyline is too good to be true! I love all the leads and emotions are shown very clearly... but nowadays, it looks like story is still dragged out... same drama, same praises, same scandals... either this should end on a good note or may be Author should change the perspective.

a lot is going on with the story and I feel like Stanley was being left behind in this story...I think y should focus more on the two main character...where is Stanley's point of view when xyla were being attack and bullied..that's all but great story though but decided to drop it...

In the Shadow of the CEO

In the Shadow of the CEO

Confused, Jia could only stare at him for a moment as she tried to puzzle him out, but before she could chance any guesses at his mysterious thoughts, he nodded and leaned back in his seat. "That's true," he agreed. "I find that family concerns dominate if different commitments clash. It's the way of things." ...He had a point. She couldn't argue that if something ever happened to the twins, that she could ignore it and go on with her job just the same. But even so... "Having a job is what allows me to focus on and resolve family concerns," she said. "So sometimes, choosing the job over the family allows me to protect their long term future. That's the way of things, too."

Loved this story of 2 people who showed real growth, evolving in a v. positive way bc of their emotional connection, determination to persevere under v. trying circumstanc. Yr treatment of anxiety & depression, particularly involving women was handled beautifully & with great clarity & sensitivity.

the book was good, but most of the time i find it boring as it focus more on details and thoughts of the character, it loses the flow of conversation making it boring just for me,well just my thoughts... but overall the story is good. thank you author...

Divorcing My Ruthless Husband

Divorcing My Ruthless Husband

He beholdat me with exhausted eyes as he spoke, "I told you, I can't leave and needs to—" "I have a job too, you know! You can't just leave our child out of your plans like this!" I rose from my seat with fiery indignation and pointed sharply at his chest. My voice was raised in anger, every muscle tense with frustration. But he didn't budge an inch, a stoic facade hiding deeper emotions. "You always prioritize your own work over everything else! Get your priorities straight and focus on us for once!" "Why? Are you any different from me? You chose to pursue work, didn't you? If you had not put your career before everything else, I am assuming that you got a front-row seat to his performance

I'm still in the first few chapters and I'm so baffled by the husband's actuations. It was apparent that he doesn't love nor like Summer, thus the divorce. So why is he acting as if he doesn't want other men to see her in her revealing outfit? Or does it really look disgusting?

All For You, Daddy

All For You, Daddy

The opposite sex has always been last on my list of important worries, well below shelter, money and my education. “He’s been divorced from my grandmother like…longer than we’ve been alive. He could definitely benefit from having a woman in his life.” “What happened between them?” “His career happened. It has always been number one.” I hum in understanding and finally find the willpower to stop staring at the general. “Well, it’s nice that you’ll finally get to spend time with him this weekend.”
