Suffocating 5e Novels & Stories

All Cassana needed now was a line of sight towards her target, so she braced herself and stepped out of hiding. But just before her eyes could land on the drow's ugly shape, darkness enveloped her vision. The drow mage took the drapes from the windows and wrapped them around her face. The Protection spell Cassana conjured on herself would keep her from getting harmed by the solid objects around the room, but it won't keep her from getting suffocated. The thick curtains continued wrapping around her head heavily, and she began to hyperventilate.

The air around him suddenly feels thick and heavy, pressing down on his chest making breathing almost impossible and he can’t see a thing. He feels suffocated and his skin starts burning, but not from fire, he thinks. It feels as though the fire has turned into liquid and is seeping into him and making its way up through the ground, up his veins, all over his body until there are no bones left inside. Then he blacks out.

he choked out, his fingers pressing against the side of her throat. For a terrifying, endless three seconds, he felt nothing but the icy chill of her skin. Then, beneath his palms, a slow, ragged, but deeply stubborn heartbeat thudded against his fingertips. A profound, shuddering breath escaped Solen's chest, his forehead dropping for a fraction of a second against her shoulder as the suffocating weight of panic finally lifted. She was going to survive. I'd never known anything like it could exist: all-consuming, ravenous, a whirling black vortex that sucked me under so completely and mercilessly that it truly felt like I was being devoured alive, bones splintered, marrow sucked. The room suddenly felt too small, too confining. I felt a wave of suffocation wash over me, my breaths coming in short, shallow gasps. I needed air, needed to escape the confines of the room. With a sense of urgency, I got up from the sofa and made my way towards the door.

I simply released the absolute, crushing weight of my Alpha aura. The physical impact hit the room like a detonating bomb. The heavy mahogany table groaned, the wood splintering straight down the center. The glass water pitchers shattered instantly. Elder Thorne choked. His eyes bugged out of his head as the invisible pressure slammed into his chest. He collapsed heavily into his chair, gasping desperately for air that completely refused to enter his lungs. Silas fell straight out of his seat, hitting the floor on his hands and knees. The other three elders grabbed their throats, gagging violently under the sheer, terrifying dominance radiating from my blood.
