TRIGGER WARNING: SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THIS CHAPTER Juniper Summer was always my favorite season. Some people complained summer is too hot, or too humid, but I loved the feel of the sun shining down on me, loved being able to spend my entire day hanging out in and around the stream, and loved having an ice-cold lemonade at the hottest part of the day. While it was technically not summer yet — the solstice was still several weeks away — the temperature was hot enough for me to claim it was summer.

“This is exactly what I needed. Ari, we have to survive this summer, chaos and all.” I laugh, treading water beside her. “Survive… yeah. I think we can handle it.” And Gavin? He keeps swimming beside us, quiet, controlled, with just enough presence to remind me that summer isn’t just about chaos. It’s about currents, about tides, and maybe… about noticing someone without even trying. Finally, dripping and laughing, we climb out of the water, shivering slightly as the sun dips lower behind us. Eben and Josh are still shrieking and shaking water everywhere, while Gemma and I wring out our hair the best we can, laughing at the mess.

Chapter 6 Eliana Maxine “Anyway, enough about me. What’s everyone doing this summer?” Mica asked, stretching her legs out on the carpet. I let out a dramatic sigh and flopped back onto the cushions. “Mine’s going to be absolutely thrilling. I’ll be home, binge-watching K-dramas and reading books all summer long.” Cassie snorted. “Of course you will.” Gladz grinned, nudging my foot playfully with hers. “At least you’re consistent.”

"Is she a kid? Our baby girl is already an adult!" Luke sighed helplessly. The three of them entered one after another. Summer shut the door behind them, feeling doomed. Ever since her rebirth, she had faced many intense situations. Yet, it was the first time she felt like the world was about to end. "Are all these the books you've been studying every day?" Kristen glanced at the towering piles of textbooks and workbooks on her desk. "Yep!" Summer nodded as she poured some water for them. With her back turned to them, her eyes were glued toward her bedroom.

“You have beautiful eyes.” Meeting his concerned gaze, I came back to my senses, snatched up my shattered glasses, and fled in panic. However, that day, the sound of cicadas buzzing in the trees beside the school field lingered in my ears for a very, very long time.

He doesn't want to be judgemental, but a few of them might be delinquent from appearance. He took the liberty to watch from above, his mind wandering who those new faces were around. He hasn't gone outside in a while, the community lacks children playing outside and the nearest park is across the highway he doesn't have a heart to take a leap into. She shows me a piece of yellow bikini that's extremely eye-catching. "I'm sure you're going to rock in it," I answer with a smile. "Miami chicks, better watch out for your men," she screams her usual lines, forcing a smile out of me, before breaking into a heavy sigh. "Even if I can't have Liam, this has been the best summer ever." Can we not talk about Liam?

For the first time, Sieghal set foot again in his hometown, Shira—a small fishing town in North Yorkshire, England. It's not precisely sprawling but beautiful enough to be remembered as a place full of charm. Shira is this quaint little town nestled among cliffs and tall hills, flanked by a few mountains and rolling hills. Shira's sunsets are top-notch, the best anyone could find anywhere. It should be a perfect place to unwind from all life's chaos. Yet, for Sieghal, Shira is the last place he wants to be.

Natasha The final bell rings and kids squeal as they push the front doors open and race to the freedom that summer break brings. “Bye, Ms. Knight. What are you doing this summer?” Sarah, one of my avid readers asks as she walks slowly toward the door. “I’ll be reading.What else?” I tell her. “And actually, if you're interested, the library has summer reading group Wednsdays at noon.
