Christian's head lifted, his jaw tightening as his gaze swept the people, catching curious stares like a laser sight.
"They think you don't eat," I whispered, leaning forward, my voice shaking with laughter.
Christian's eyes narrowed. "That's absurd. Of course l eat."
"I know," I teased. "But to them, you're this mysterious billionaire who probably survives on fine wine and intimidation alone."
He grunted, clearly unimpressed.
"Don't get offended," I said, unable to resist poking further, "but I bet someone out there thinks you eat human hearts... maybe lungs... with caviar."
