The Werewolf's Bride
“Ten minutes. No more. Stay in the lit corridors.”
She kissed him, quick, soft.
“Ten minutes.”
She left barefoot, wearing only the long nightshift he’d given her. The halls were empty, torches burning low.
She wandered toward the library, somewhere quiet, somewhere with books that might hold answers about bonds, about poison, about what happened when a human carried a wolf’s claim.
The library door was ajar.
She pushed it open.
Inside, moonlight fell through tall windows in silver bars across the floor.
A figure stood at the far end, back to her, hooded cloak the color of midnight.
