Until I Wrote Him
India’s hand brushed mine then,slight, trembling and before I could shake her off, she laced her fingers with mine.
What the hell?
Her grip was warm but shaky, slick with nerves.
I could feel her pulse racing, and could see the beads of sweat dotting her hairline. She looked up at me with wide eyes, a mixture of adoration and panic.
And in that moment, something shifted in me.
Because I realized this wasn’t romance.
This was survival.
She wasn’t kissing me because she couldn’t resist.
She was kissing me because she had no choice.
The realization stoked something dangerous in my chest.
