I Survived War, but Not My First Love
"I can't leave. I haven't found my boyfriend yet. If he's dead, I'm going to die right here with him—ouch!"
Sebastian pulled a stitch too tight, and a fresh stream of blood welled up from the wound.
He looked at me, a cold smirk tugging on his lips. "People out there are starving to death. Most of them won't survive until tomorrow. You have a chance to live, but you're choosing to waste it over some guy? That's incredibly stupid."
His words were harsh, but I didn't argue.
He was right, after all.
The next morning, ignoring his stern warnings, I took two painkillers and ran straight toward the heart of the ruins.
