The blade I'm playing with slices across my skin, the sting of it doing little to calm the anger, and the taste of the lollipop in my mouth, muted, so I ditch it in favor of food.
Letting my Sweetness feed me wasn't easy, and now that we aren't alone I'm back to shoveling in anything I can find when no one is around. It's a habit I'll never break, one imprinted on me as a child in a house that frequently had none, and established when I lived on the streets at the ripe age of eleven.
“Secure,” I answer the light vibration as soon as it hits my palm.
“Secure,” he confirms back.
“I need a single distraction tomorrow night.”
