Sweet forbidden love

I fell in love with my father's best friend. My father is two years older than my mother. According to my grandparents, they met and fell for each other when they were children, so they married quite young. On the day I let out my first cry into the world, my mother was only eighteen. My father has a close friend who, while not a blood relative, is a brother who has gone through life and death with him.He is already over thirty but has yet to marry. He frequently visits our house. I have liked him since I was a little girl. I liked him so much that no matter how many boys pursued me at school, I rejected them all because my tiny heart was reserved only for him.Even though he is older, he remains youthful and quite fit. He exudes a mature charm that leaves me utterly infatuated. When walking beside me, no one thinks he is my uncle. Instead, they often assume he is my older brother. In my eyes, he is incredibly handsome. While my peers were obsessed with pop stars, I was head over hee

"Brother, listen to me, calm down. Ava gave me sleeping pills."My father was boiling with rage. He gnashed his teeth so hard they clicked, his face a deep crimson. He pointed at the bed where the mottled bloodstains lay. "Then what in the world is that on the bed?"He stood there dazed. Before he could explain, my father stepped forward and landed another powerful punch.A streak of bright red blood appeared at the corner of his mouth. I was terrified. I rushed forward to stop my father. "Dad, stop hitting him. Please, don't hit him anymore."At that moment, a flicker of regret touched my heart. Seeing him like that made my heart ache. He must have been so angry with me.My father looked at me with a gaze full of resentment. He had never looked at me that way before. His eyes were bloodshot. He raised his hand and struck me with great force, leaving me in utter shock. My father. For the first time in my life, he had hit me.My lip began to bleed. I could not dodge in time and stumble

The blinding lights and the thumping music hammered against my ears, making it unbearable. I never liked rowdy environments. I only came here with him to take a photo and post it on Facebook to grab his attention.Luciel grabbed my hand. I tried to pull away, but he said, "The crowd is too thick. I'm just afraid I'll lose you."For some reason, I had a bad premonition the moment I stepped inside. Usually, I am very sensitive, and my gut feelings are always right.Luciel said this was a familiar bar that he and his friends frequented. He claimed it was a lot of fun and guaranteed to make me happy. He pulled me to a table laden with stuff. There was beer, liquor, and cigarettes. These were all things I had never tried before. The table was surrounded by about eight to ten strange men. They did not look like decent people. I sat down with him and took out my phone. While Luciel wasn't paying attention, I snapped a photo and quickly posted it to Facebook. Once done, I turned off the phone

I felt a pang of regret for letting things spiral this far. My voice came out small and shaky.“Uncle… I’m sorry.”“It’s fine,” he replied, his tone flat and distant. That indifference cut deep. I felt so small and hurt.“I… I know you’re angry with me. I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble.”The words caught in my throat. My chest rose and fell unevenly, breathing suddenly difficult. Tears streamed down my dirty face.Seeing me cry softened the cold darkness in his eyes just a fraction. He glanced at my frail figure through the rearview mirror. A trace of pity flickered in his gaze.“Uncle… please don’t hate me. Don’t stop loving me.”By the time I finished, my eyes were red and stinging. I couldn’t hold back the flood of emotion inside. I hated myself too—acting tough on the outside while crumbling so easily on the inside. One moment of coldness from him, and I was already sobbing like a child in the rain.He sighed, looking at me, then reached over and placed his large hand on

“Ava, tell me what happened.”What happened? Why was he even asking me that? Shouldn’t I be the one asking him? In the end, more than ten years of my feelings couldn’t compare to a woman he’d only known for a few days.I turned my back on him immediately. My face was already soaked with tears. I didn’t want him to see. I didn’t want her to see. I didn’t want to stay here another second. I didn’t want to humiliate myself any further. A thousand “don’ts” flooded my mind.“Ava Martin.” He called my full name, his voice loud and sharp. It had been a long time since he last called me “Ava Martin.” It sounded so distant. He only used my full name when he was angry.“Honey… don’t be like that. It’s my fault… it’s all because of me,” Eleanor’s voice came from behind, trembling as though she were crying. If
