Max mutters the last part, but still I heard it. "Like what," I ask already guessing what it might be. "Like killing that Vampire before presenting the case in our court" Li finishes for him. She works here" she is pretty. "That means, you guys are not coming?" there is only one card here.

It was some minutes past 6pm. Caitlyn Hugh was dragging her tired feet back home after a long day at work. As she walked along the lonely road, she looked back at intervals, hoping for a cab to appear. Although she was very much aware that cabs do not ply that road, Caitlyn prayed for a miracle. She took out her phone from the small bag she hung on her shoulder and connected her headset to the device. She was going to click play on her favourite music, but the sound of a car honking halted her.

Whatever magic she was using was forbidden. Tabitha stumbled back as Gia Rae’s power overwhelmed her. She dropped to her knees, stubborn and unwilling to accept defeat. “Bitch, you should’ve stayed in the hole you crawled out of! Azrael was mine!” Tabitha shrieked as the last shred of her power burned out, her scream turning banshee‑like. Her face twisted into something horrendous, disgusting. The crowd grunted in revulsion, forcing Tabitha to cover her face in shame.

Either way, she looked like she was going to deny our connection. “N… No sir. N… Nothing is wrong” Athea said. “Tabitha? May I ask you why you were looking at our partner with such disdain?” “Really sir? Do you not know who she is?” She asked me back. Man did I hate it when someone answered a question with a question. Why the hell couldn’t they just answer the damn question? “Yes, this Athea. She just told us that.” “No,” Tabitha responded laughing. “This is Athea, the heir in line to take over the Blackblood Pack. Alpha Doug’s daughter.” She responded with so much hate that it left a nasty taste in my mouth.

“We must leave now.” “No,” Tabitha Marie almost sobbed the word, her fingers digging into Aislen’s arm in a death-grip. “No! You don’t understand. I have to know where she got that power from. You don’t understand. It’s life or death for me, and I… I have a son. I have to live for him.” Talen reached out and gently pried Tabitha’s fingers off Aislen, who winced under the reporter’s tight grip but looked at her with compassion, the brief contact with the other woman flooding her mind with the tragic details of her life.

Penny was about to make her exit when Tabitha's mood darkened. "Hold on! What's your game here? You claim not to know us?!" Among their group were socialites and A-list actresses. Tabitha's status was slightly lower, but she was currently dating Andy Williams, the heir to Alliance Bank. If the relationship went any further, she would be marrying into wealth. Tabitha took a few brisk steps and positioned herself directly in front of Penny. Yet, Penny's striking outfit outshone her effortlessly, rendering Tabitha somewhat insignificant in comparison.

She looked ancient and powerful. I'd never liked her. She was from Clearwater Pack originally, one of Frederick's people, but she'd served as a regional priestess for decades. Technically, she outranked Athena. When the council had insisted she perform the coronation instead of our own priestess, we had no grounds to refuse. Athena had been furious. I didn't blame her.
