ARI’s POV The apartment was silent except for the occasional creak of wood or the faint hum of the fridge. After the day I had, all I wanted was peace. Yet, my mind was a storm. Cross. The mafia don. The man I’d kissed. The man I had trusted—even for a moment.

My heart pounded heavily and I gulped the whole bottle of water in the blink of an eye trying to calm myself down as I felt slightly light headed. Out of nowhere, a taco appeared in front of my eye, and I did what every sane person in my place at this moment would do. I freaking snatched the taco like a madwoman and inhaled it in seconds. I WANT MORE. Looking up at Hunter who now sat in front of me I ran my tongue over my teeth where a piece of taco stuck and wasn't getting out. Hunter sat there holding up his jaw with his hand staring at me, like a creep, softly, his hair falling in front of his face covering his eyes a little. He looked cute, and delicious. "We agreed we would stop deceiving ourselves." I put distance between us, but he's still looking at me like I'm something precious he thought he'd lost forever. "Andrew, when are you going to let me go?" His expression changes, becomes harder, more dangerous. "Why don't you twist a knife in my chest and find out?" The threat in his voice makes me shiver, but I force myself to glare back at him. "Stop being childish. I'm serious." "So am I." He walks over to the bar and pours champagne into two glasses. His movements are controlled, precise, but I can see the tension in his shoulders.

Rico’s body went completely still. He stared at Marco like the man had suddenly grown two heads. And maybe a horn sticking out of his forehead too. It was like the mighty Marco Bellini had finally stopped fighting the madness inside his head and fully embraced it. The man had gone insane. That was the only logical explanation for the nonsense Rico had just heard. For a few seconds, Rico waited, thinking Marco would laugh it off and yell about how he was only joking. But then he looked into his eyes and saw that Marco meant every word.

“You didn’t shift, but the amount of calories we burned last night was unreal. God, Keyah. I don’t even burn those many calories after lifting weights for an hour straight.” Her cheeks went pink. They had done some crazy, borderline illegal stuff. “I am hungry,” she countered. “I just choose to savor every bite.” She didn’t know what came over her as she slowly unwrapped her taco, then dipped her finger inside the shell to coat it with some of the sauces oozing out of it. Her gaze was fixed on Aaron as she licked her finger slowly. Why are you doing this? The voice of sanity screamed.
