When her face suddenly went blank and in no time hardened she shrugged and brushed a swathe of her hair behind her ear. "I thought it was you. I was terrified but you haven't posted anything on your I*******m page or added to your story for a while now... " She broke off and sighed in relief, "Andrew went on a vacation at Turks and Caicos? " It wasn't any news to me and I didn't see the reason why I should act like it was. Snooping Elena's page lately was now my favorite guilty pleasure. It was the perfect way I loved to hurt. Her pages gave me reasons to live and feel the pain.

She didn’t even know when she ended up on the floor, or how her clothes had disappeared. It wasn’t until the cool, silky touch of the ribbons brushed against her skin that she snapped out of her daze—but it was far too late. The tiger already had her in its jaws—there was no escape now. So she gave up struggling, laying back on the sea of ribbons, peeking past the young master’s shoulder to watch the red strands descend like a net from the ceiling, enveloping the two of them. Tangled together in that passionate web, they were indistinguishable—like silkworms cocooning themselves in scarlet thread.

Somehow, they wove three individual lives into one tangled knot.” He adds, and I smile. “I wouldn't have it any other way,” I reply honestly, and his cheeks get rosier.

But it’s not. My hair is a tangled mess, though I don’t remember Braden touching it. It's knottled like he ran his hands through it mutliple times. Pulled on it even as it feels sore at the roots. I tie it up hastily, smoothing the strands as best I can. The feeling that I’ve lost time gnaws at me. My heart races, panic bubbling just beneath the surface.

Everything had spiraled out of control, faster than I ever could have predicted. The tension in the air was almost suffocating, like the calm before a violent storm.
