Death Demands Justice
When I heard the ending, I looked out at the clear blue sky beyond the windows of my law firm and smiled in relief.
Just then, my assistant knocked on the door and reported, "A Miss Reed says she's your friend. She's waiting downstairs."
I was a little surprised and quickly went down.
As soon as I stepped out of the building, I saw Nora Reed leaning against a sports car and waving at me with a smile.
"Attorney Hayes, interested in going for a drive?"
"It would be my honor."
Looking at her, I felt the corners of my mouth lift without meaning to, and I ran toward her.
