Jonat gets an odd look and reaches for my dress. Before anyone can react, she tears it slightly, exposing Taran’s glowing mark on my chest. In an almost proud voice, Taran says, “It suits her well. Don’t you think?”
Looking enraged and hurt, Jonat says, “How? I watched you dive into the ocean. You didn’t have time to bond.”
Taran shrugs, “I move fast.”
“You and Gesina should rest. I’ll have a servant come to mend the dress and another dress brought to you for dinner.” Taran’s mother turns to Jonat, “Come, we should give the newly mated couple privacy.”
