Once again, I opened my lips to speak, but all I could do was gasp. Forcefully, he spun our bodies around, pressing mine on the cold wall, his hazel eyes meeting mine. They lifted off with a smooth jerk, the city of Florence falling away beneath them. The skyline stretched out, ancient rooftops, cathedrals, and winding streets all blurred beneath the dark glass. Tiffany leaned forward, lips slightly parted, watching it all like a painting come alive. Kai glanced sideways. "You good, sweetheart?" Her laugh was low, dark. "Maybe. Yeah... you look good," her voice dropped low. "So good."

The sun rose slowly over the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. A new day, a new battle ahead. As I stood on the balcony of the Salvatore estate, the crisp morning air filled my lungs, but the taste of dread lingered in my throat. Today, everything would change.

She nodded and shrugged. “I mean…if there was a scent. I guess that would be it.” The light in her eyes was bright as she nodded to me. “I thought you hated the smell?”

On our last day in Calor Del Cielo, Lyzza invited me to stroll around town, asking me about good places to buy stuff and souvenirs. Our flight was at 5 pm that night, so I agreed to make the most of our trip. I took her to Famoso Mercado—the most popular local market where they sell native food delicacies, unique souvenirs, and memorabilia. To my surprise, I hadn't been informed that Cedrick Miguel would be joining us when I saw him waiting for us in the hotel lobby. Feeling betrayed, I gave Lyzza an angry, accusing look.
