The girls continued their gossiping, and I couldn’t help that my mind went back to what Hailey had said about tutoring Tyler. Tyler. I could’ve punched him. This was so typical. Tyler didn’t need tutoring. He was the smartest wolf I’d ever met. He could look at a diagram once and re-draw it; he could read a law and be able to recite it flawlessly. If he wanted to learn Anatomy, he would’ve learned it by now. He would’ve if he’d never met Hailey. He’d want that passing mark just enough to turn his grades around by the end of the semester.

“It’s still me.” I nodded hesitantly, forcing myself to stay rooted in place. He circled me slowly, his movements graceful yet predatory. “You’re not going to beat me with brute strength,” he continued. “But you don’t need to. Watch my movements. Learn to predict them.” For the next hour, Tyler guided me through a series of drills, teaching me how to react to a wolf’s attacks. He lunged, swiped, and snapped at me, always holding back just enough to avoid injuring me. At first, I was clumsy, my fear of his wolf form making me hesitate. But as time went on, I began to anticipate his movements, dodging and countering with increasing confidence.

No such luck. "Oh, you should totally have Tyler teach you!" she gushed, and I could feel her eyes on me. "He taught me. He's an amazing teacher, and he is so patient." She leaned in a little, her voice dropping, "He has such a firm grip on the wheel, you know? And he knows just how to handle a stick shift... so gentle when he's guiding your hand, but so powerful when he takes control."

He was a gentleman through and through, and always had been. He had spoken of an island to Harry, and for a wild moment, she had wanted to flee there with him, far from Logan, from the shame and humiliation of her love for a man who was, as Thaelen’s werewolf mate had said, a monster. However, somewhere in all the chaos and confusion of the day, a conversation between Tyler and a human man had brought home a realization to her. A schoolteacher. “Why is there a year three schoolteacher, Talen?” Tyler had asked. “I think you need to wait until the baby is born before you begin planning it’s education.”

I muttered, my hands shaking slightly as I stood taller, trying once again to capture the essence of the bow. For the next hour, Elara guided me through the rituals, each step more intricate than the last. The greetings, the gestures for the elders, the solemn chants, all of it was a delicate balance of grace and power. Elara’s instructions were precise, her corrections sharp but never harsh. Every word she spoke carried a weight, an expectation that I couldn’t ignore. When the session ended, Elara regarded me with a thoughtful expression, as if she was measuring the depth of my commitment. “You’ve done well, Hailey. Better than I expected, actually.”

Talia’s POV The morning sun beat down on the training grounds, warm but not yet oppressive. Della stood beside me with a bow in hand. “Focus, Talia,” she said, her tone smug as the string creaked. She released, and the arrow thudded just outside the painted ring. “Damn it.” I chuckled and pulled my own arrow from the quiver. “You’re supposed to be teaching me, not missing on purpose.” “Shut up. That was wind,” Della argued.

“Um… step aside? Use speed?” Zaria’s smile widened, perfect teeth glinting. “Excellent. Remember, strength doesn’t always win. Instinct is about survival. Think faster than your enemy.” The class hummed in response. I crossed my arms, willing myself invisible. Then her eyes landed on me. “Tessa.” The air seemed to crackle. Rowan shifted in his seat ever so slightly, his broad shoulders brushing against the girl clinging to his arm. I ignored it, straightening. “Yes?”

Miranda just needed to act normal and everything would be fine. “Yes! Oh, Josh wouldn’t stop going on about you last night, and what a good tutor you are. I think you’ve really relighted the passion in him!” Miranda buckled a little. “Passion for what?” Sharon laughed. “For history of course!” Well acting normal wasn’t going well. “Oh yeah, sorry. Morning coffee hasn’t set in yet.” “I just wanted to thank you again, it’s done him the world of good. You should think about tutoring full time!”

It’s been two weeks since she joined her new job, every day after attending the class she approached her way straight towards Rockstar Mansion. After entering, as per his order, she presents in front of him with an Irish coffee in the rehearsal room where he practised and remained engrossed in the music. First two-three days, Tara still felt hesitation and fright to remain in his existence as she senses his severe oceanic blue orbs on her which only provide her with a feeling of dread. She tightened her fist as his oceanic orbs made her quiver to the core and she tried her best not to glance at him.

Elowen’s pulse spiked. The baby kicked, small and terrified. Talia’s hand landed on her shoulder, firm. “Stay,” the instructor said. “Circle first. Then war.” The alarms kept howling.
