I shrieked at the sight of the puppy in my lap. “You don’t like it?” Darwin asked surprised. “Of course not. What is this? Why is it so tiny?” I lifted the miniature dog away from me and watched with mixed feelings as it let out a whoop and shook its fur with its tongue hanging out. It was white, furry, really tiny, had a diamond collar on its neck and had the brain size of a pea. Darwin barked out a laugh at my expression. “It’s a puppy, Lydia. It’s supposed to be small,” he chuckled.
