Rising from the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes

Andrew's voice turned cold as he said, "You old pervert, you don't even realize you're terminally ill. If you don't get the right treatment within three days, you'd better start picking out your coffin." Ernest scoffed. "Are you trying to intimidate me? You probably don't know that I've trained in martial arts since childhood—my muscles are harder than steel. Terminally ill? You must be out of your mind." Andrew replied calmly, "Believe it or not, in three days, you'll be suffering horrible pain, wishing you were actually dead."

Good introduction. It sounds as if Christina was forced to be cold & dump Andrew. Since after he left, we see that she was aware of her actions & didn’t simply, not care. The rest were quite the typical cliché in Chinese type of stories. I’ll be great if the 2 made amends, unlike the typical cliche

Second Chance at Love: From Divorcee to the Billionaire's Bride

"He was suffering too when he hurt you. That night, he locked himself in his room and wouldn't let anyone disturb him. He's terminally ill, he could die at any moment. After breaking up with you, he lost all hope and wanted to give up on life." Wendy remembered how she had brushed off the girl’s words. “This all sounds like some kind of soap opera. How much of this is true?” Wendy’s response pushed the girl over the edge. “How can you be so cold? He’s dying, and you’re here making jokes instead of worrying about him!” Wendy didn’t respond. Seeing people looking their way, the girl wiped her tears and pulled out a pre-prepared note from her bag, handing it to Wendy. "If you want to see him, c

I asked "On the contrary, she's slowly dying" he said "What? But she..... she must have heard what I said and that's why she cried, that means she's becoming more conscious right?" I asked "It's called terminal lucidity, it happens sometimes with patients in critical condition, then one day, they suddenly bounce back and start showing signs of recovery and soon after, they die" Doctor Kilan explained "No, no you are mistaken, my Mom is not dying!" I yelled and Daisy held me

Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire

“I’m sorry to tell you like this. I really am. But…the tumor is inoperable. It’s aggressive. The doctor doesn’t know how much longer he has. I know you care for him. So this is a courtesy call. If you want to see him, Cassandra, you need to come now.” I was silent for a moment. My vision went blurry and I felt like I was going to pass out. “I…I will. Of course,” I heard myself say, but it didn’t feel like me saying it. “Thank you Jordyn,” I replied. It felt like an odd to thing to say, thanking him for a phone call to tell me that Stanley was dying. But honestly, I was in shock. I didn’t even know what I was saying. “Okay then.” Click. Jordyn hung up.

A VOW TO HATE

I scowled, and she cracked up. "Turns out it's chronic. Terminal. The doctors claim I only have so much fight left in me. They had a treatment plan, the final one, and I was excited to see you again. To go home. But I got the news on Friday that it had failed. There’s nothing they can do.” “I don’t buy that.” I shook my head, bringing my laptop to research it. I know the basics. Too much sugar or too little. Why would someone die from it?

The First Heir

The First Heir

On the third day, Philip finally woke up, but he was still very weak. “How long have I been unconscious?” That was Philip’s first question after he woke up. Cynthia hurriedly helped Philip up and said with a smile, “Three days.” Philip frowned and asked, “How’s Grandpa?” Hearing this, Cynthia’s face darkened as she said sadly, “Granduncle Benny said that the grandmaster is terminally ill and doesn’t have much time left. Even he can't do anything about it.” Philip frowned and said, “Bring me to Grandpa.”

love this book...the way the writer builds up the characters most especially the ML..but i was wondering why would the ML have to endure such humiliations from his inlaws when he could just show them his real 'him' as well and the enormous power that he holds considering the status of his family...w

His Countdown Ended, but I Died

His Countdown Ended, but I Died

Eli tried to throw himself forward to shield me, but Mom held him back with a firm grip, saying, "He needs to learn his lesson! He needs to understand what things he can and cannot say!" I overheard Mom and Dad talking in the kitchen the following day after the incident. Mom said through her tears, "He only has nine years left…" "I know," Dad said hoarsely." "J-Just nine years left…" It was only then that I understood that Eli was really going to die. It turned out that the numbers hovering above his head, unseen by anyone else, were the countdown to his lifespan. In the living room, Mom's and Dad's eyes were bloodshot as they carefully escorted Eli back to his bedroom.

THE FURY: TRIPLETS

THE FURY: TRIPLETS

Equipment stripped, consoles dark, the wind finding every gap in the structure and making its own kind of noise. The central control room was the only space with power. Sloane hit the door and we went through into humming, cold light. The server bank ran the length of one wall, active and warm, far too much processing power for an abandoned rig. I saw the terminal screen before anyone spoke. The countdown was already running when we entered. Fifty-one seconds. Fifty. Below the numbers, in clean white text on a black field: I TOLD YOU IT WAS A CAGE.

Reborn to be Truly Loved

Instead, she pulled out her favorite journal and began drafting her plan for the final thirty days of her stay in this world. The system's voice echoed in her mind. [Host, as your task is nearing completion, your body will be programmed for a terminal illness to ensure a natural departure. Please prepare yourself for the pain.] Charlotte closed the journal, her hands steady despite the words. She headed downstairs to have breakfast, only to bump into Brian storming in, his face flushed with anger. "You've got some nerve, Charlotte! Hanging up on me last night? Tell me, what will it take for you to leave Eric?"

Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging

I said. "Dying, to be precise." He said it matter-of-factly. "Cancer. Terminal. A few months, perhaps less." The bluntness of it caught me off guard. I had no way I could react to that. "I'm sorry." "Don't be. I've lived longer than most, and considerably better." He adjusted himself in his chair, wincing slightly. "But it does lend a certain... urgency to putting my affairs in order. Which includes you."

The book is insanely interesting. At first, it starts like all the other novels of this genre, but quickly deviates from the clichés by being actually true to reality in terms of abusers and their behavior. The author also brilliantly addresses the reality of the "savior" trope. It's refreshing af

Totally riveting!!! Fully developed characters and unexpected plot twists with satisfying resolutions. l love that the main characters are not perfect. They are flawed despite their wealth and power which makes the novel realistic. I hate that it has to end. I'm reading the last 2 chapters tonight.
