Ella stood there, stunned, staring at Jasmine in her arms.
“Hey, Ella, close your mouth before a fly gets in,” I teased, snapping her out of her daze.
“You idiot,” she muttered, giving me a playful glare before turning her attention back to Jasmine, now calmer.
“Oh my goodness, my Jasmine is so beautiful!” Ella gushed, her gaze fixed on Jasmine as if she were a doll. It was almost comical—drool practically seemed to be forming at the corners of her mouth.
I stood back, watching as James observed Ella silently. His expression gave away his thoughts; he clearly thought she was a bit eccentric. His eyes seemed to say, What’s wrong with this woman?
